One of my Favourite Hair Oils

januar 31, 2020

This is not the first time I'm mentioning this hair oil but I have to do it again because it is just so gorgeous! Tell me, have you already tried Tabitha James Kraan Scented Organic Hair Oil? If you haven't, then you really should give it a go. I really love it. You can read my "The Gorgeous Tabitha James Kraan Trio" post about my first experience with this oil & the brand, and I also mentioned it in the "Loving at the Moment" post.
Tabitha James Kraan Scented Organic Hair Oil
Tabitha James Kraan is a British brand and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed pretty much all the products I've tried from them, some more than others. In the later category is definitely their Scented Organic Hair Oil*. This precious hair oil contains ingredients that are not only beautiful for the hair and scalp but would also work for the skin. This is not a basic hair oil, far from it. With oils of Safflower, Rosehip, Argan, Sea Buckthorn and Goji Extract, this product is almost too good for the hair, right?! I'm impressed with this blend & as I'm having long hair, I much appreciate a nourishing hair oil that takes care of dry ends in the winter. Not only that, the product smell amazing too! It's a very inviting, beautiful scent with flower oils such as Rose, Rose Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli and Benzoin Resin Extract and Cedar Bark Oil, that make the scent a bit more unisex. It is floral with a woodsy undertone, I love it. Oh and I mustn't forget about the added Amethyst crystal in the bottle. Oh. <3

I use this oil in two ways - as a pre wash hair treatment and as an everyday hair serum. As a pre wash treatment I use it before washing my hair, usually once a week. First I brush my hair and divide it in two sections. Then I warm up some oil in my hands and apply on my hair. I concentrate it on the ends but I apply it all over. Then I massage it on my scalp too. I apply it everywhere but I don't go crazy with it. Yes, my hair look greasy but they're not dripping with oil. I then again brush my hair and put them in a bun. Ideally I would leave it on overnight which I haven't done in ages. A few hours or at least half an hour works too. Then I wash my hair as usual - shampooing twice and I use a conditioner too. Makes my hair really soft, smooth and manageable. Once my hair is dry, I then use it as a hair serum. I use only a tiny amount, that is crucial. Less is more! Instead of using the pump, I unscrew the top of the product and use a drop of oil. Warm it in my hands and apply only on the hair. It depends, but I sometimes do this every day and sometimes only once a week. But I love doing it because it nourishes my hair, smoothes them, makes them less frizzy and more shiny.
Tabitha James Kraan Scented Organic Hair Oil
This is my third or fourth bottle of the Tabitha James Kraan Scented Organic Hair Oil, and is definitely not the last! Currently I don't have any other TJK products in my collection but like I said I tried most of them and I'm impressed. A wonderful haircare line, definitely give it a go if you haven't already. While the January Beauty Discovery is still available let me share my thoughts and impressions of the box. Spoiler alert, I love it!

January Beauty Discovery Beauty Heroes Ranavat Botanics. Luminous Ceremony Cream Cleanser, Radiant Rani Brightening Facial Serum, Jasmine Tonique
Ranavat Luminous Ceremony Cream Cleanser is the Hero of this discovery and I would have to agree that this product is truly beautiful. I don't use cream or gel cleansers regularly and you know, I actually can't even remember when was the last time I used a cream cleanser. As someone with oily and now combination skin I always avoided cream cleansers. Not that stripping gel cleansers did my skin any good but I found cream cleansers to be too heavy and rich for my skin type (teenage oily, acne-prone skin) so I never got around to using them. Then I started using balm and oil cleanser, and mainly water in the morning so if it wasn't for this box, I would probably never gotten around to trying out this beautiful product. First let me mention the whole look of it - I immediately fell in love with the mauve rose colour, the minimalistic yet utterly chic design, and my heart sings when I see a sustainable, recyclable aluminium packaging. Great choice! Luminous Ceremony Cream Cleanser is really so creamy, luxuriously creamy and so nice to use. The star ingredient is Manjistha, the Ayurvedic herb that is known as the “apex of superfoods” for its ability to cleanse and detoxify. This botanical formula is a cream-slash-balm hybrid. Thanks to its lush texture, it removes makeup, dirt and oil, and leaves skin hydrated and balanced. Let me just quickly address this last sentence and if it really removes makeup. Well it depends on how much make you're wearing. It beautifully removes face makeup but for me it doesn't remove my three coats of mascara, especially if I don't use a wash cloth. Based on my experience if you only rinse it off with water, it won't remove all mascara. I prefer to use it as my second evening cleanser or as an occasional morning cleanser (I often wash my face with water in the morning). I wouldn't really say the skin is left hydrated once you rinse it off but it's certainly not dry, which I enjoy very much. A gorgeous cleanser, highly recommend you trying it out. Ranavat Radiant Rani Brightening Facial Serum is a facial oil I've fallen in love before. It was featured in one of the Indie Beauty Spotlight Discovery by Beauty Heroes and it was actually then and there that I fall in love with Ranavat. Read my review here. An award-winning treatment that packs 18 organic ingredients into an oil-based serum, Radiant Rani has established itself as clean beauty royalty. Based in Oils of Sesame & Rice Bran, the same as cleanser Radiant Rani also contains Manjishta but also there are a bunch of amazing ingredients that I know and love like Turmeric, Saffron, Licorice Root. In my previous review you can check out how impressed I was with some ingredients I never heard of  before (read it here). Radiant Rani has a beautiful scent of Rose with a hint spiciness. The serum help to reduce redness and hyperpigmentation but it's not a one-time miracle. Regular use does the trick. You can check out Ranavat Radiant Rani Brightening Facial Serum here.

Ranavat Jasmine Tonique is for all the Jasmine lovers! As the Radiant Rani it was featured in the Indie Beauty Spotlight Discovery by Beauty Heroes and you can see my review here. This single-ingredient product contains Organic Steam Distilled Jasmine Petals and I'm here for that! I love a good Jasmine scented product and this one definitely is beautiful. Use it in the morning and evening, after applying makeup, love it all day long. You can check out Ranavat Jasmine Tonique here.

Much love to you,

Vegan Cooking #9

januar 08, 2020

Or more like Vegan Baking. :) I was introduced to this dessert by my friend's mom and it's so good! Super easy to make and really delicious. It's fluffy and so yummy, and approved by non-vegans as well. These are not really brownies, perhaps it's more like a sponge "cake".
Easy Delicious Vegan Brownie Dessert, no dairy, no eggs. Biskvit brez mleka in jajc, veganski.

Easy Delicious Vegan Brownie Dessert, no dairy, no eggs. Biskvit brez mleka in jajc, veganski.
 "Brownie Sponge Cake"

3 cups* of coconut yogurt (I use the brand My Love My Life)
1,5 cups of brown sugar
half a cup of melted coconut oil

1 cup of coconut flour
2 cups of flour
2-3 tablespoons of cacao
2 teaspoons of baking soda

2-3 tablespoons of jam (rosehip or apricot works well)
dark chocolate

How to:

1. Thoroughly mix together yogurt, sugar and coconut oil. I recommend whisking it with a mixer. Spend some time on this because the more you mix it the fluffier it will be.

2. Then with a wooden spoon mix in cacao and coconut flour, and before everything is incorporated add the flour and baking soda. Also make sure that you sift all the dry ingredients because they will mix and blend together better.

3. Transfer onto a baking tray (20x30 cm).

4. Bake on 180°C for 25 minutes and then let it cool down.

5. Once it's mostly cooled down, spread on marmelade mixed with a bit of water and melt some dark chocolate which you then pour on top. Let that cool down completely and then it's time to enjoy.

Do try out this recipe, you will love the end result, I'm sure!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Much love,

Jana xx

*I use a yogurt cup (180g) to measure the ingredients.
