February Boxwalla Beauty Box with two new launches from Siam Seas

januar 30, 2019

Hello lovelies! Hope you are doing well. I received the latest Boxwalla Beauty Box on Monday, so let's chat about it, shall we? February box brings us two brand new products from the beautiful Siam Seas, a brand that was already featured in Boxwalla. I've tried a few products from them and I have to say that I'm always impressed with Supadra's creations. Supadra Geronimo founded Siam Seas in early 2016 and in her line she harnesses the potency of ancient South East Asian botanicals used in Thai medicine, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, combining them with research-backed actives to create something new, yet carrying centuries of ancient wisdom. Supadra creates complex and unique products, with long ingredient lists that always contain plants extracts that I've never seen before.

February Boxwalla Beauty Box* themed "Frangipani Fables and Black Rice Tales" contain two new products from Siam Seas: Kwam Rak Body Serum and Sai Clear Face Serum (both full size). You can check out the box here.
February Boxwalla Beauty Box Siam Seas Kwam Rak Body Serum, Sai Clear Skin Serum
February Boxwalla Beauty Box Siam Seas Kwam Rak Body Serum, Sai Clear Skin SerumSiam Seas Kwam Rak Radiance of Love Body Serum. February Boxwalla Beauty Box
Siam Seas Kwam Rak Radiance of Love Body Serum. February Boxwalla Beauty Box
Kwam Rak Body Serum is described as a gorgeous true hybrid body serum that instantly hydrates like body lotion and deeply moisturizes like body oil. Personally I'm a massive fan of body oils but I know lots of you prefer to apply a lightweight body lotion instead. Some body lotions don't moisturize my skin as much as body oils and butters do, so I'm very excited about this new concoction. Lavanya (the co-founder of Boxwalla) says that "it goes on like a water-y serum, weightless like gossamer, that instantly gets absorbed, but with an after feel of a rich oil or cream". I've tried it only twice so far and it indeed feels very lightweight and is quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving just a slight film that moisturizes the skin. But you know actually this film is more noticeable when I was testing it on my hand rather than on my body. It's a rather unusual product, cause it's so lightweight but after a whole day my skin still feels soft and not dry at all. I've heard some rave reviews about this body serum and I'm thinking to myself "yes yes, I know what you mean". Body products are so much easier to test out, you quickly see if and how they work for you. Kwam Rak, which means love, is made in a base of Aloe Juice and Aloe Inner Fillet Gel, and contains raw, unrefined Mustard Seed Oil, that is used in both Ayurveda and Thai massage to stimulate circulation which in turn helps prevent cellulite and improves the texture of the skin. There are also three types of Ceramides, Pomegranate, Noni, Turmeric, Ashwagandha, Ginger, Green Tea. There's also Carbomer, which I know some didn't care for in the Resiliency Face Serum by Earthwise Beauty, from the previous box (see my review here). As for the scent let me say it's strong, intoxicating, floral, comforting, unique, beautiful. It doesn't linger on all day. Perhaps it would be better to write its description: "The grounding scent of Nutmeg and faint Mustard Seed bestow comforting energy before the scent gently transfer into a blooming floral essence of Jasmine Sambac and Frangipani".
Siam Seas Sai Clear Skin Serum Vitamin C Serum. February Boxwalla Beauty BoxSiam Seas Sai Clear Skin Serum Vitamin C Serum. February Boxwalla Beauty Box
Siam Seas Sai Clear Skin Serum Vitamin C Serum. February Boxwalla Beauty Box
Sai Clearing Face Serum is "a powerhouse antioxidant serum that synergistically combines a stable form of vitamin C and science-proven actives to create a second skin-like protective layer providing a firming appearance and natural glow". Supposedly this serum does it all, and is suitable for all skin types. Rich in antioxidants, brightening, calming, clearing, moisturizing, protecting - well sign me up! Sai is a water-based serum, made in a base of Black Rice Water along with Turmeric Hydrosol, Sompoi Water (which I think is also known as Shikakai) and Cassia Tora Water (all extracted in-house). This serum contains a stable Vitamin C Ester and more than 50 (!!) active ingredients including Basil, Green Tea, Ashwagandha, Mangosteen, Frankincense, and some that I've never heard of before like Coptis, Skullcap, Chitrak, Kali Jiri, King of Bitters, and more. It has a very warming and intriguing scent, kinda sweet and cozy. The consistency is lightweight and the serum contains small grainy particles, which are Gypsum (this ingredient speeds up wound healing). As I just got this box I can't tell you how this serum performs and if it delivers on its promises, but I can tell you that it quickly sinks into the skin and leaves a slight tacky feeling and a radiant look

The two Siam Seas products are valued at $155, if you subscribe to Boxwalla you can get them for $49.95. You can get this box here. As is with Boxwalla, you don't actually have to subscribe to their bi-monthly boxes. You can just get this box and then cancel your subscription anytime, which I find very convenient and extremely customer friendly. Find more info here.

You can get the February Boxwalla Beauty Box until the 10th of February.

Ps. these two Siam Seas products are at the moment only available in this box. Get them here.

Love you lots,

Jana xx

Facial Oils, I will love you Forever and Ever

januar 28, 2019

Hi loves! I know that facial oils are not that interesting and exciting as they were a couple of years ago, at least in the green beauty community, but I love them so, SO much and I can't get enough of them. I have said it before and I will say it again, a good facial oil can do so much good for the skin. Please don't be afraid of them, even and especially if you have oily skin. If you think that oil is the last thing you would want to put on your face because it would break you out, then I'm sorry but you are greatly mistaken. Trust me on this - a facial oil that was created to support oily, acne-prone skin can and will transform your skin. Not only are they nourishing, but they can be balancing, super softening, they can really help to reduce scarring, hyperpigmentation, and the list goes on. I'm currently trying out & loving three facial oils so let's take a closer look at each one of them. Organic, natural, cruelty free facial oils. Earthwise Beauty Black Locust Firming Concentrate, Emanufaktur Aman Skincare Serum, Nini Organics Natura Detox Oil Earthwise Beauty Firming Concentrate Powerful Plant Extract Serum for Mature Skin. Non-comedogenic, natural, organic, vegan facial oil
Earthwise Beauty Firming Concentrate Powerful Plant Extract Serum for Mature Skin. Non-comedogenic, natural, organic, vegan facial oil
Earthwise Beauty Black Locust Firming Concentrate* is the newest product from EWB and honestly I'm always so very excited to try new products created by the mastermind that is Ava (the founder of Earthwise Beauty). Her products are so potent, they have this great energy and I really am so drawn to them. EWB products work so well for my skin and I absolutely adore that Ava is always thinking of acne-prone, imbalanced skin types and uses wonderful non-comedogenic ingredients. I immensely appreciate that! The new Black Locust Firming Concentrate is at first glance suitable "only" for mature and dry skin but in fact it works beautifully on my combination skin. And this is what I love about it - some "anti-aging" products are too nourishing and pore-clogging for my skin so it's nice to use an oil that contains "extremely nutritious seed and fruit extracts and anti-acne plant-derived ingredients in very specific ratios, for an overall effect of noncomedogenic nurturing". This oil is very nourishing and has a rather thick consistency but it's also really lightweight and not greasy. To quickly look at the ingredient list, there's Acai, Kalahari Melon, White Lupine, Sea Buckthorn, Black Elderberry and more - all in there to improve a wide range of mature skin concerns, including wrinkles, loss of firmness, loss of elasticity, and roughness, all without causing clogged pores or sensitization. I highly recommend you check out more info about the ingredients they used here. Black Locust has an earthy, dark green colour and earthy, mossy scent. I like the scent, it gives me a good feeling but as is with EWB products, it won't be for everyone. I haven't been using it for that long but I think it really helps to plump up my skin. I will continue using it and see how it performs on a long run. Oh and I also want to mention that I use Black Locust every morning, and often also in the evenings. I usually mix a drop or two with another oil. You can get Black Locust Firming Concentrate here (you can use my affiliate code "Loveliness" for 15% off your order).
Nini Organics Natura Detox Oil detoxifying, balancing, acne prone skin. Natural, organic, vegan
Nini Organics Natura Detox Oil detoxifying, balancing, acne prone skin. Natural, organic, vegan
Nini Organics Natura Detox Oil* is the facial oil I've been dying to try out ever since I started following Nini Organics on Instagram. And trust me, you need to follow them (you can do so here). Alex (the co-founder of Nini) always, always makes me smile. He is funny, he is real, he knows his stuff and he has so much good energy that you would want to see his gorgeous face every day. I was most excited to finally try out Nini products and I have to say that I've been really enjoying them. I've been using Natura Detox Oil every morning ever since I got it and I like it very much. This specially formulated detoxifying facial oil is high in Linoleic acid that helps target overactive sebaceous glands to help regulate oil production & a potent herbal blend to soothe inflammation and tackle blemishes. This is what I was talking about earlier - find an oil suitable for your skin type and you will fall in love with facial oils. Natura Detox Oil contains oils that support and help to balance oily and acne prone skin, like Hemp Seed, Black Cumin & Jojoba Oils. We can't forget about the potent healing and detoxifying herbal blend consisting off: Neem (which is such a wonderful ingredient for acne prone skin), Gotu Kola, Nettle Leaf, Burdock Root, Red Clover and Milk Thistle. It's so beautiful and the delicate scent of Lavender is divine. This oil has a thin viscosity, it's lightweight and it quickly sinks into the skin. So I've been using some other amazing products but I think that this oil also helps to keep my skin clear and happy. Definitely check it out, especially if you have problematic skin. You can get Nini Organics Natura Detox Oil here.
Emanufaktur Aman Skincare Serum. Liquid balm, brightening
Emanufaktur Aman Skincare Serum. Liquid balm, brightening
Emanufaktur Aman Skincare Serum* is a "liquid balm" type of oil, meaning it has a thicker consistency. I've already shared my initial thoughts on this special serum (see here) so I won't go into too much details, but know that it contains Turmeric, Papaya, Argan, Acai, Strawberry, Avocado, Tucuma & Capuacu Butter, Oats, Chamomile and more beautiful ingredients. It has a strong scent of Citron and Patchouli which at first I wasn't the biggest fan of but I grew to like it. I talked to Emanuela, the founder of Emanufaktur, and she blew my mind with her descriptions and just the sheer passion it shined through while talking about this product. She formulates all her products first with her intuition and then wisdom, and she said she was at first surprised by this product and that she needed some time to get used to it. She described the serum or rather the scent as grounding and that it works on the first chakra, on love and sexuality (all your sexual energy is stored in root chakra). I remembered her words "use as you feel...one day you will love the scent, that day you are ready to take on a lot of old things regarding the previously mentioned things" (about grounding and the first chakra). I guess that time is now. I haven't used this oil religiously but in the last week it has been my go-to evening facial oil. Very interesting. I don't want to go all voodoo on you but I believe and sometimes feel the energy of objects (just a few days ago I felt a very strong urge to get rid of some crystals and I kid you not, I felt a wave of relief when I tossed them out) and I guess this serum emited its energy and called out for me. And I'm happy it did because it's so lovely. It's lightweight, potent, moisturizing and I do think it's also brightening. I have another Emanufaktur product, their Green Balm* but I have yet to try it out. I'm waiting for it to call me by my name. You can get Emanufaktur Aman Skincare Serum here.

Which facial oils have you been loving lately?

Love & light,

Jana xxx

Art of Organics has a new name + January Clean Beauty Box

januar 23, 2019

Can you believe it's already the 23rd of January? This month has flown by! How was 2019 treating you thus far? I have to say that it's been treating me rather well and I'm SO grateful for that. I've been a bit busier than usual so I'm just now posting about the exciting changes Art of Organics has gone through this month. As of January they are now known as "The Clean Beauty Box". They have decided to adopt The Clean Beauty Box as their official name to better describe who they are. While they support many fully organic brands they also feature many brands that use ingredients that adhere to their strict guidelines for clean beauty without being certified organic. They want to ensure their brand name fully supports all of their featured brands and products. You can notice that the logo on the box changed from "ao" to "cb", but the font remains the same. They also launched their new website, which you can check out here. The subscription model remains the same, with minimum of subscribing to 2 months ($41.95 per month) but do check out for more options here. With all this being said let me know introduce you to the January Clean Beauty Box, which unfortunately isn't available anymore but you can of course get the products separately.

In the January Clean Beauty Box RESCUE* are three products: One Love Organics Vitamin C Moisturizing Facial Serum, Henné Organics Lip Mask & Luxury Lip Balm V2 (all full size). You can check out the box here.
Clean Beauty Box January Rescue One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum, Henne Organics Lip Mask and Luxury Lip Balm
Clean Beauty Box January Rescue One Love Organics, Henne Organics
One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum January Clean Beauty Box Rescue
One Love Organics Vitamin C Moisturizing Facial Serum "takes a triple action approach to help boost skin dulled by stress and environmental elements". This plant powered formula contains Vitamin C Ester, which is a potent and stable form of Vitamin C to boost radiance, and also plant-powered C complex: there's Rosehip, Baobab, Acerola & Sea Buckthorn. One thing to mention is that the first three ingredients of this serum are Jojoba, Shea and Green Tea Oils, which I wasn't aware of when I first got the box and tested out the consistency. It surprised me that the serum has a slightly oily texture. It's very lightweight and is fast absorbing - in the end this serum isn't made only of oils. I will say that I just assumed it to be a "true" serum, a light emulsion. All this said, I'm not complaining about it, I'm just reviewing it. I still use an oil on top but for some just this serum would be enough I think. The serum has a faint scent, not really sure what I'm detecting but I appreciate the almost non-existing scent. I have yet to test it out and see how it works on my skin but my initial thoughts are good. Based on my previous experience with One Love Organics and their Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream* (which was featured in my 2018 faves, see here), I have high hopes for it. You can get One Love Organics Vitamin C Facial Serum here.
Henne Organics Lip Mask January clean Beauty Box Rescue
Henné Organics Lip Mask is literally "the product you didn't know you needed". It says that on the pamphlet that came in the January box and I couldn't have said it better myself. When I first tried this product my immediate response was "this is good!". I'm not sure what's the deal with this product but this really is a nourishing lip mask that is more than perfect to have in the colder months. What's in it, you say? An array of stunning ingredients like Rosehip, Avocado, Beeswax, Jojoba, Pomegranate, Sea Buckthorn, and more. This product is such a beaut! It has this vibrant orange colour and smells of citrus & peppermint, which also gives a slight tingling sensation on the lips but nothing uncomfortable. It actually feels very nice. You apply it liberally on your lips and wait for 15-30 minutes and then it's recommended to wipe it off with a tissue. It makes my lips so soft and smooth, and moisturized. This lip mask is so nice and I'm so thrilled it was in this box, cause I honestly wouldn't think about buying it. It really pleasantly surprised me. You can get Henné Organics Lip Mask here.
Henne Organics Luxury Lip Balm January clean Beauty Box Rescue
Henné Organics Luxury Lip Balm V2 is hands down the best balm ever! I already used it before but not in this packaging and I have to say that now I love it even more. This cult lip balm was carefully formulated with Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Avocado, Shea Butter, Cocoa, Jojoba and Vitamin E. Oh it is so gorgeous! It has a yummy scent of Cocoa Butter and it is just so nourishing and softening. I'm obsessed with the sleek black packaging. It is in fact very luxury and I really do love it. If you struggle with dry lips then definitely give it a go, and their Lip Mask as well! You can get Henné Organics Luxury Lip Balm V2 here.

Now tell me, have you tried any of these products before?

Have a beautiful Wednesday!

So much love to you,

Jana xx

New In from LoveLula

januar 15, 2019

Hello lovely people! How are you all doing on this fine day? Yesterday I got a new package from LoveLula so let me share with you some new things I got from them, including two products I already received in December.
Love Lula ZOJO Beauty Elixir The Young formula, Mono Naturoils Radiance Luxury Facial Mask, Isla Apothecary Relax + Recover Bath Salts, Organically Epic Bamboo Toothbrushes with activated charcoal
Mono Naturoils Radiance Luxury Facial Mask. Vegan, Organic. Love Lula
I got most excited when I heard Mono Naturoils products are now available at LoveLula. I've already tried a few of their products, like their Rose & Cucumber Cleansing Oil* (review here), which is divine - very soothing and non-irritating, Sól Beauty Balm* which I loved so much, and their Elixir Facial Oil*, also beautiful. I had quite a hard time deciding which Mono product to try next and in the end I went with one of their masks. Radiance Luxury Facial Mask* is a beautiful mask suitable for all skin types. It promises to soften, hydrate and gently exfoliate the skin, while also delivering vital nutrients and antioxidants, leaving it healthy, and softly glowing. There are some gorgeous ingredients in this mask: Rose Petal Powder, Rose Clay, Rosehip, Marshmallow, Red Maca, Acai, Cacao, Ashwagandha. To make it a little bit that more special, Radiance mask is infused and amplified with the high vibrational energy of Ruby. I have to use it a few more times to really get to know it but so far I've been enjoying it very much - it does what it promises and really makes my skin soft and smooth. You can get Mono Naturoils Radiance Luxury Facial Mask here.
Isla Apothecary Relax + Recover Bath Salts. Love Lula
Isla Apothecary Relax + Recover Bath Salts. Love Lula
Next is Isla Apothecary Relax + Recover Bath Salts*. Isla Apothecary is another UK brand that I already know and my love for their products just keeps on growing. I utterly love their Refine + Radiate Beautifying Mask* and I don't even need an excuse to find a way to include it in my posts (here is my latest example). I also love their Skin Purifying Mud Facial Mask + Exfoliant* and Neroli Body Oil* (review here). I'm back at living in a place that has a bath (oh yeah!) so I got myself these bath salts with Epsom Salt and essential oils of Lavender, Bergamot, Cedarwood and Rose Geranium. Epsom salt is not actually salt but a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate, which are both absorbed through the skin. This is great for sore and tired muscles, and to flush out toxins. I'm looking forward to using it. You can get Isla Apothecary Relax + Recover Bath Salts here.
ZOJO Beauty Elixir The Young Formula Food Supplement Set of ingredients protecting against oxidative damage. Vegan, organic. Love Lula
ZOJO Beauty Elixir The Young Formula* is the next product I want to mention in this post. I love me some supplements (even tho I'm terrible at taking them daily!) so after The Gorgeous Formula* (more info here), I had to order another one. The Young Formula contains organic ingredients that help to protect against oxidative damage aka there are lots of antioxidants in this supplements: Flaxseeds, Aronia, Rosehip, Shatavari, Baobab, Sea Buckthorn and Schisandra. Vegan, gluten & soy free, among other things. You can get ZOJO Beauty Elixir The Young Formula here.
Organically Epic 4 Pack Toothbrushes Activated Charcoal Bristles, Panda Friendly, Biodegradable. Use less plastic. Love Lula
Organically Epic 4 Pack Toothbrushes Activated Charcoal Bristles, Panda Friendly, Biodegradable. Use less plastic. Love Lula
Last but most certainly not least is a 4 Pack Bamboo Toothbrushes* from Organically Epic. I haven't used this particular brand before but I always have a bamboo toothbrush on hand. These are made from sustainably grown, ethically sourced bamboo (panda friendly). The handle is 100% biodegradable and we all know that plastic toothbrushes aren't biodegradable, even recyclable. So having a bamboo toothbrush is great to reduce your plastic waste. The bristles on this particular toothbrushes are made of Charcoal infused nylon and can be recycled. Activated charcoal is great for whitening your teeth so I'm curious if they will have any effect on the colour of my teeth. You can get Organically Epic 4 Pack Bamboo Toothbrushes here.

Did you try any of these products?

Have a wonderful day!

With love,

Jana xx

Introduction to January Beauty Discovery feat. Jane Scrivner

januar 11, 2019

Hi loves! How are you doing? Today I'm coming at you with my introduction post to the January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes. This is only going to be my first impression post but as far as I see, people are in love with this month's curation. So without any further ado, meet Jane Scrivner, a holistic massage therapist, facialist and international trainer, and the founder of Jane Scrivner skincare line. Based in England, this brand is all about 5-A-Day Facial Routine with which the founder challenges the idea that different skin types need different products. Her belief is that everyone's skin needs the same fundamental care that supports the barrier function and acid mantle. With that said Jane Scrivner's products should therefore work for all skin types and as far as I can tell, they work for combination skin. Jane Scrivner is not a new-to-me brand but this is the first time I'm trying her products. My friend uses their eye cream and she loves it.

In the January Beauty Discovery featuring Jane Scrivner* are: Cleansing Balm (full size), OO Cream (Full size), Two Fluffy Cleansing Mitts & Two Wooden Spatulas. You can check it out here.
January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser, OO Cream
January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser, OO Cream
January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser
Jane Scrivner Cleansing Balm + Two Fluffy Cleansing Mitts are the Hero of this discovery. This Cleansing Balm is based on Jojoba Seed Oil, which is actually a liquid wax. Jojoba is known for its ability to mimic the skin's natural sebum production, which provides optimum nutrient absorption deep into the skins matrix. Second ingredient is Beeswax and then we also have 9 essential oils, including Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Sweet Orange. The balm has a beautiful floral scent of Ylang Ylang, which is a sweet and happy scent, and I can also smell Sweet Orange. It's a lovely, delicate, not-too-much-in-your-face scent. This product has a gorgeous balmy consistency - soft and buttery, and it instantly melts and transforms into an oil upon contact with skin. It deeply cleanses my skin and removes everything, but at the same time doesn't leave my skin dry or stripped. I love a good cleansing balm so I'm thrilled to have this one in my life. I haven't tried the two fluffy mitts because I have to wash them first but I'm interested to use them because normally I just use a wash cloth. You can check out the Cleansing Balm here.
January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes Jane Scrivner OO Cream
January Beauty Discovery by Beauty Heroes Jane Scrivner OO Cream
Jane Scrivner OO Cream is the sidekick of January Beauty Discovery but I believe that many would agree that this is a co-hero of this box. Look, I only tried it twice but I'm like OMG you're beautiful!! To quickly go through some ingredients, OO Cream contains Oat Flour, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Birch and more. One of the star ingredients is the amazing CO2 extracted Rosehip Fruit Oil from which the vibrant orange colour of the cream also comes from. Rosehip is rich in Vitamin A and abundant in Omega 6 & Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It is great for repairing scars, pigmentation + it beautifully supports well aging. This cream is so different to other moisturizers I've tried. As I first opened it I was floored by the texture, the colour, everything. I thought this is going to be a nourishing, heavy duty moisturizing cream but it's actually really lightweight, it's absorbed very quickly and it leaves more of a matte finish on the skin. Perfect for those who don't really like to use facial oils. This matte finish that the OO Cream gives is from the thin film of beta-glucans in the Colloidal Oatmeal. I love that it contains this very soothing ingredient and overall I'm so very pleased with it. As I said, the OO stands for "Over Oil" but it can also be applied without the oil underneath, like "on it's own". First impressions are really great and I completely understand why people are raving about it. You can check out the OO Cream here.

I was looking forward to trying out Jane Scrivner products because I've read some rave reviews before but I honestly didn't expect such positive first impressions. This brand is not really all that talked about but I'm so very pleased Jane and Jeannie collaborated on this discovery, and I can easily say that you won't be disappointed in these products. Unfortunately I can't share if they made a difference in my skin but I'm enjoying them immensely. Love.

You can get January Beauty Discovery with Jane Scrivner products here.

With love & light,

Jana xx

All the Makeup I have

januar 08, 2019

After posting my skincare faves/new discoveries from last year (see here) I got a request to share my other favourites as well. Since I just recently sorted out my makeup products I decided to just share everything I have, including some miscellaneous pieces I store in the same boxes as my makeup. I'm actually very proud of my current makeup collection since it's not that big, especially for a beauty blogger. I have a lot of my favourite products that I use regularly and some that I don't use that often but like I said in my previous post, a girl needs options! I don't want to go through every single makeup item so if you're interested in one I haven't mentioned, let me know.
Natural Organic Makeup RMS Beauty, Ere Perez, Modern Minerals, Gress, H is for Love, Fitglow, Aether, Plume, Earthwise Beauty, Pacific Northwest Essences, Maya Chia, Inika, Hurraw, Hiro

Natural Organic Makeup Foundation, Concealer, Powder, Ere Perez, Sappho New Paradigm, W3LL People, Hiro, RMS Beauty
Starting with foundation and concealer. My go-to "foundation" in 2018 was Sappho New Paradigm CC Cream*. I have the shade Light and I received this beautiful foundation in a Beauty Heroes Limited Edition Makeup Discovery (my review with swatches here). I love this CC cream so much! It gives light to medium coverage, it's quite long lasting, the shade matches me perfectly. I really like it. If I'm not mistaken it contains coconut oil, so be careful if you're prone to breakouts using products with coconut oil. I got Sappho CC Cream at Beauty Heroes, where member save 15% (get it here). The Sappho Discovery is still available, for $39 and you can get it here. In Europe Sappho products are available at Naturisimo and Glow Organic.

I have a love hate relationship with Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation*. Well it's not really a love hate relationship, it's more "I like/dislike it". I can't rely on it so I only use it at some occasions when I don't mind if my foundation doesn't last that long. Other than that it feels great on the skin, it's lightweight and not greasy, and has a light coverage. I find that the bottle needs to be shaken before use and that is best to apply it with fingers. I terribly want it to work for me so I'm still keeping it and trying to love it. Do you have it? Have any tips for me? I have the shade Haze and I got it at Love Lula.

My favourite concealer is the famous and well loved "un" cover-up* from RMS Beauty (review here). I have the shade 11 and it matches me perfectly. This concealer lasts for absolute ages, it's quite pigmented, great to use under my eyes and on blemishes. Will definitely repurchase. You can get the "un" cover-up here. The other concealer I use for under my eyes is Concealer* from Sappho New Paradigm (my review with swatches here). I have the shade Light and this colour is super light and therefore on my skin only suitable to use under my eyes. It brightens up the area really well and covers it quite well. It's not a full coverage concealer which I like because I'm all about that natural makeup look. The same as Sappho CC Cream, I received this concealer in a Beauty Heroes box which is still available (see here). You can get Sappho Concealer here. Oh and the Hiro Out of Space Balm Conceal & Transform* concealer is great too but I have to use it more to really make up my mind about it. I have the shade #04 Nala and it's a good match for me. I got it here.

The powder I've been using and loving is the "un" powder* by RMS Beauty. It contains only two ingredients: Silica and Mica, and it does what you'd expect from a good powder - it minimizes shine and mattifies. It depends on the time of year but I always love to use it under my eyes and on the parts of my face where I used concealer. So for example, I spot conceal with concealer and then apply some powder on top and then if I need to, I apply more concealer and always finish with powder. That way the coverage lasts longer. I like this product very much and based on my sparing application I will have it for years haha. You can get the "un" powder here.
Natural Organic Makeup Bronzer, Blush, Highlighter, Au Naturale, Ere Perez, Maya Chia, Gressa, Lily Lolo, Modern Minerals
One of new discoveries from last year that I fell in love with is The Highlight of the Day* by Maya Chia. I have the shade Golden Hour and this highlighter is so beautiful! Instead of using it on top of my foundation I rather use it as a primer. I apply it on the tops of my cheeks and all the usual places where you'd put a highlighter, and then I go straight in with foundation (which I also apply with fingers). That gives such a beautiful, understated glow to the skin, that looks natural but also oh so beautiful. You know sometimes I feel like I have too much makeup on my face so tricks like this are all that I wish for. I want my makeup to look good but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a lot (even tho I probably am haha). I got this sparkling beauty in Sarah's LEVEL UP Discovery by Beauty Heroes. It comes with The Highlight of the Day of choice (you can pick from 4 different shades) and Supercritical Omega-3 Chia Face Oil which is lovely (check it out here). If you don't feel like getting the oil then you can get the highlighter here. The other highlighter I love is Modern Moonstone Cream Highlighter* by Modern Minerals (review with swatches here). Perfect everyday highlighter, not too shimmery but still very much out there. You can get it here.

Ere Perez Rice Powder Bronzer in Tulum* (review with swatches here) is one of my fave makeup products I discovered last year. It's so amazing and I absolutely love wearing it. It contains some teeny tiny shimmering particles but nothing glittery or sparkly. I think it has just the right amount of something something that makes my skin looking very nice. It gives it that dimension without the look of super matte skin. It's stunning and I love it so much. You can get Ere Perez Bronzer in Tulum here. The other fave which I haven't been reaching for that much last year is Lily Lolo Pressed Bronzer in Miami Beach. This bronzer is matte and it was my absolute fave before the Ere Perez bronzer (I used two of this bronzer already). I still really like it but I tend to reach more for Tulum because it's warmer. I got Lily Lolo bronzer here but you can also find it in a number of places, including Lily Lolo's website here.

I was completely and utterly in love with Au Naturale Powder Blush in Pink Champagne* for the longest time but then I tried Ere Perez Carrot Colour Pots* (review with swatches here) and now I can't imagine living without these absolutely stunning blushes. Sometimes I love powder blushes and sometimes cream. For the last few months I've been all about cream blushes, the shade Harmony in particular (even though the red shade Happy is so beautiful too). Easy to use, very blendable, they last really well and they just look great on the skin. Harmony is the absolute winner in this category! You can get it here.
Natural Organic Makeup Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Lip Balm, Fitglow, Modern Minerals, Axiology, RMS Beauty, H is for Love, Kari Gran
Lip products from left to right. First we have two Lip Colour Serums by Fitglow Beauty - Gospel* and Nudie* (Nudie is in the Limited Edition Colour Discovery Day - see here). These lip glosses are very popular and with good reason. They are super moisturizing, creamy and they're also nicely pigmented. Really very beautiful. You can get them here. The other fave lip glosses of mine are from Modern Minerals - L'Amour* (which is actually pink in real life but sadly the colour looks completely different on the photo; available in Mercedes' LEVEL UP Discovery) and Garnet*. L'Amour is infused with Lotus Wei essence and has a beautiful floral scent and Garnet smells like mint. They have good pigmentation and feel more like lip gloss than Fitglow serums, with the exception that they are not sticky. Which I greatly appreciate. These feel great on the lips and I really love wearing them. Would definitely love to have more shades. Next is Axiology Lip Crayon in the shade Serene* (swatch here), which is this brownish lip colour that again, feels great on the lips. I feel like the colour isn't that flattering on me as is for example a brighter colour but I still like to wear it occasionally simply because I love the packaging and cause it just feels so nice - not drying but also not like it would slip of my lips. The red lipstick is from RMS Beauty and the shade is called Red*. I love this colour so much but since it's a proper red I don't wear it as often as I should. It's super pigmented (and carmine free), non drying, matte and it lasts well. The two other extremely comfortable lip products are Kari Gran Lip Whip in Jeannie* and H is for Love Lip Glacé in Root & Berry*. I love both so much! They're very moisturizing, like lip balms but they also give this beautiful shine and colour to them lips. I love the no-fuss aspect of them and I never have to think if they still look alright on my lips after a while which I can't say for a bold, pigmented lipstick. I really love these two.
Natural Organic Makeup Mascara Eyebrow Powder, Plume Science, Sappho New Paradigm, Inika, Lily Lolo
I discovered a new product for my eyebrows and I really love it. It's the Nourish & Define Pomade* by Plume Science. I have the shade Ashy Daybreak. I find that cream products like this give a bit more natural look to the brows and they also last longer than powder. I easily wear it a whole day and it still looks good in the evening. Thumbs up! You can get Plume Nourish & Define Pomade here.

I try not to have too many mascaras open at the same time and I usually only have one, but at this moment I have three. Sappho New Paradigm Vegan Mascara* is nothing special and I would definitely not repurchase it. Inika Long Lash Mascara* was the mascara I fell in love with last year but then I got the second tube of it and it just didn't work as it did before. It was very underwhelming, especially in comparison to the first tube, so I probably won't repurchase. Not sure if they changed their formulation or what, but I'm like boy bye. At the moment I'm really enjoying the newest Lily Lolo mascara called Big Lash Mascara. I have to say that I was not expecting the wand to be so extra but I quickly got used to it. It is easier to be more precise with mascara that has a smaller wand but since the end result looks good, I don't mind it at all. I haven't been using Big Lash Mascara for long but I'm already considering repurchasing it in the future. You can get it here or straight from Lily Lolo's official website here.
Natural, Organic Makeup Single Eyeshadow, Eye Pencil, Gressa, RMS Beauty, Au Naturale
Gressa Eye Tint in Áureo* is one of my fave single eyeshadows ever. It's sparkly and gold, it's long lasting, doesn't crease, it's great. See how it looks on me here. These RMS Beauty Swift Shadows* are great too but I don't really wear them that often (I should!). The upper colour is Garden Rose GR-13*, brown shade with red undertone, very beautiful for green and blue eyes, and Enchanted Moonlight EM-61*, a greyish purple.
Natural Organic Makeup Eyeshadow Palette Aether, Fitglow, Nude and Noir
As eyeshadow palettes go I love, love, love the Aether Beauty Rose Quartz Crystal Gemstone Palette* (swatches here). It's so very beautiful! The shades are stunning, pigmented, long lasting, buttery, they blend easily and I'm just so in love. I really appreciate that the palette is made to be more sustainable and easy to recycle - there's no mirror or magnets and when you remove the elastic band and eyeshadow pans, it's completely recyclable. You can get it here (code "Jana" saves you 10% - not affiliated). Fitglow Beauty Day Palette* is new in my collection. It's very neutral, perfect for daytime but so far I only used it once. Nude & Noir Multi-Use Face Palette in Bijou* is not something I would really recommend, because the shades crease and they're not long lasting. Such a shame because I love the colours.
Hurraw, Pacific Northwest Essences, Earthwise Beauty, Oneself
In the same two boxes that I have my makeup (I'm reusing Boxwalla's beauty boxes) I also store some random items like lip balms, perfumes and flower essences. I don't wear perfume often because I have a few very beautifully scented body oils and I just use those, but when I do apply it, I go for Oneself Organic Perfume Oil Hawaiian Flower Lei*. It's sweet, floral, tropical, very beautiful. I have more lip balms that are on the photo, especially Hurraw lip balms. My fave from them is their Moon Night Treatment*. I also have to mention Thelma Lip Treatment* by Earthwise Beauty, a moisturizing lip balm that is healing and repairing but also feels lightweight on the lips, and I really like that it doesn't look shiny. Lately I've been really into my Sun Infusion Essence Blend* from Pacific Northwest Essences (which is a company founded by Ava Zhan, the founder of Earthwise Beauty). Sun Infusion is said to help with winter blues, depression, stuff like that. You take in internally, a few drops 3-4 times a day. I feel much more content this winter, I kinda appreciate the cold weather more and I'm not that annoyed with it as I usually am. To shop Earthwise Beauty and Pacific Northwest Essences products you can use my affiliate code "Loveliness" for 15% off your order.
Modern Minerals, Fitglow, Lily Lolo, Hynt Beauty, Ere Perez, Phb Ethical
Modern Minerals, Fitglow, Lily Lolo, Hynt Beauty, Ere Perez, Phb Ethical
In the same drawer I also have some other makeup bits that I don't wear that often, like for example Modern Minerals loose eyeshadows - Surya* and Hopeful*. The later was created in collaboration with Danielle (@crueltyfreeveganbeauty). The 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Butter is this moisturizing and super pigmented lip balm that I love to wear because it feels like a lip balm but it gives a great colour payout at the same time. Other lip products are: Hynt Beauty Aria Pure Lipstick in the shade Passion Plum* and Hynt Beauty Libre Lipgloss in Liquid Garnet*. On the left of the photo is Ere Perez Lipstick in Birthday* and next to it is Fitglow Beauty Lip Colour Cream in Beet*.

I may do a "get ready with me" on Instagram with my everyday makeup faves so if you'd like to see that, hit me up.

Much love to you all,

Jana xx

My 2018 Skincare Discoveries

januar 04, 2019

Hello lovelies! How are you all doing? It's already the 4th of January, but I think I can still wish you a very happy New Year! May it bring you an abundance of love, joy, health and wealth. I didn't really know what to put up as my first post in 2019 so I bite the bullet, listen to one of my wonderful followers on Instagram (hi Anna!) and gathered the products I fell in love with last year. I focused on skincare and really tried to narrow it down to just one product per category, but I completely failed haha. It's always good to have options when it comes to skincare, isn't it? I picked the products I currently have in my collection and those that I tried for the first time last year (with one or two exceptions).
New Discoveries, favourites from 2018. Earthwise Beauty, Ayuna, Lena Wild, Ranavat Botanics, Wabi Sabi Botanicals, Flower and Spice, alteya Organics, One Love Organics, Live Botanical, Isla Apothecary, Leahlani Skincare
Earthwise Beauty Marshmallow Face Cleanser, Ayuna Artisan Nourishing Soap
Let's start with cleansers, with cleansers I mainly use in the morning and sometines in the evening. Ayuna Nourishing Artisan Soap* (review) is hands down the best bar of soap I tried for my face. It's truly divine and I adore it. It lathers so well, it has this yummy sweet scent and ingredients that work for all skin types - it's both hydrating and detoxifying. I love using it when I need a little pick me up, a morning refreshment or when I want a super thorough second cleanser in the evening. I got this cute little Ayuna sopa in their AMMA Travel Set* (get it here) or you can get the full sized soap here. Both of these links are from Beauty Heroes where members can take advantage of 15% discount. Ayuna is a Spanish brand so if you live in Europe you can shop their products straight from their website here.

Earthwise Beauty Marshmallow Face Cleanser* (review) is a concentrated foaming cleanser for all skin types. This beauty is very calming, soothing and also hydrating. It's perfect for winter mornings when all you want is a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin. The ingredient list is beautiful and I'm all for all the soothing ingredients it contains, like Marshmallow, Calendula and Chamomile. This cleanser will last ages because you only really need a tiny little bit - two or three pumps are plenty. It has this gel to cream consistency and doesn't really lather all that much and I kinda like that. I feel that makes it even that more gentle and non-stripping. You can get Earthwise Beauty Marshmallow Face Cleanser here (you can always use my affiliate code "Loveliness" for 15% off your order). In Europe available at Reina Organics (see here) and Eminessences (see here).
Leahlani Skincare Pamplemousse Tropical Enzyme Cleansing Oil, Inlight Beauty Face Cleanser Beauty Heroes
For my evening cleanse I fell in love with Leahlani Skincare Pamplemousse Tropical Enzyme Cleansing Oil* (review). This cleanser is so beautiful! I know it's not everyone's cup of tea because it does contain a synthetic ingredient that makes this cleanser rinsable with water without the need to use a wash cloth, but personally I'm fine with it. So yeah, Pamplemousse is my go to cleansing oil when I need something quick to remove all my makeup or when I want my bathroom to smell heavenly (which honestly is like every day). It has a sweet citrusy scent of vanilla & grapefruit, which I love. The whole experience of using this cleanser is so nice and who doesn't love a fuss-free routine, especially late at night? Apply, massage, rinse with water, done. You can get Leahlani Pamplemousse Cleansing Oil here. In Europe available at Eminessences, Reina Organics, So Natural Beauty.

Second evening cleanser I fell in love with last year is the Face Cleanser* from Inlight Beauty. Inlight was a brand I wanted to try for literally ages and last year it was featured in November Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery (see here) and I can easily say that this is not the only Inlight product I love. This cleanser is your standard cleansing balm but also it's much more than just a "standard cleansing balm". It has a grounding scent, is very emollient and beautifully and effectively removes my makeup. To rinse it all off you have to use a warm wash cloth and honestly, that is the best part of my evening skincare routine. I do love a good rinsable cleanser like Pamplemousse but I will be forever in love with using balms and oils that you have to remove with cloths. The feeling of warmth when you put on a cloth is one of the best feelings in the world. It's little things like that that make me happy. This beautiful product is also 100% organic, the whole line is. Inlight is a UK brand and you can get it here or if you're a Beauty Heroes member get it here with your 15% discount.
Earthwise Beauty Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist Wabi Sabi Botanicals Indie Beauty Spotlight Discovery Limited Edition Beauty Heroes The Offering Ageless Ritual Face Mist
Facial mist

Earthwise Beauty Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist* (review) was the first toner/face mist that popped into my mind when thinking about last year's faves. This is not a new product but technically it did go through a slight reformulation and I have to say that it's better than ever. With Cistus Hydrosol, Aloe Vera, gem and flower essences, this is both a facial and an aura mist. Infused under moonlight, this unique mist is great for the skin (hydrating and great for all skin types) and your whole body, your soul, your surroundings. I did have to slightly get used to the scent but now that I did I think it's so beautiful. Indeed, I am impressed. You can get Earthwise Beauty Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist here (use my code "Loveliness" for 15% off your order).

Second mist is The Offering Ageless Ritual Face Mist* from Wabi-Sabi Botanicals (review). This one is also so special to me and that's saying a lot because this one contains only hydrosols and no aloe vera juice, which I always prefer to have in my facial mists because they're more hydrating that way. The Offering contains Frankincense and Orange Blossom hydrosols and is truly ever so beautiful. I have to say that the packaging, the stunning picture on the bottle really speaks to me. The scent is floral, citrusy, woody, warm, grounding. Love. I got it in one of the Indie Beauty Spotlight Discoveries by Beauty Heroes which you can get here (my review of the box here).
Alteya Organics Rose Otto Regenerating Concentrate Love Lula, Live Botanical AER Hyaluronic Acid Serum

2018 was the year of serums so it was terribly hard to choose my fave (here you can check out one of my posts I dedicated to serums). So the first serum discovery was AER Hyaluronic Acid Serum* from Live Botanical (review). This serum is great for all skin types, even very sensitive skin. With Aloe, Green Tea and Hyaluronic Acid, AER gives such a boost of hydration, doesn't have a scent and I love that it doesn't clash with other products. It's super lovely, the packaging is beautiful and it's also affordable. Yes, yes, yes. I got this Live Botanical AER Serum in April Art of Organics Clean Beauty Box (see my review here). You can get it at Live Botanical here. In Europe available at Eminessences (see here).

Alteya Organics Rose Otto Regenerating Concentrate* (review) is this rich-in-roses serum that I honestly didn't expect to love this much. It has a strong scent of roses, it's very hydrating, soothing, doesn't clog my pores and is just so beautiful. Oh goodness, how many times can I say beautiful in this post haha? This serum is designed as an "anti-aging" serum so I recommend it more to those who are over 30. You can get Alteya Organics Rose Otto Regenerating Concentrate here.
Flower and Spice Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser, One Love Organics Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream

First half-ish of the year I was all about One Love Organics Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream* (review). I didn't really post about it as much as I loved it but know that I did and still do. This cream is super lightweight but also hydrating and just a wonderful creation. It quickly sinks into the skin and smells like coconut/coconut water. This is one of the products I wish I would use more cause it really is gorgeous. I got Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream in April Art of Organics Clean Beauty Box, the same as the Live Botanical Serum (review here) and it's also available in Art of Organics store here.

The second moisturizer to mention is Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser* (review) from Flower and Spice. This is an absolute stunner! This is one of the best products I've tried last year and my love for it keeps on growing. Very moisturizing and hydrating, it's so creamy and luscious and I simply can't get enough of it. With Rose and Coriander this cream is a true gem and I love using it every single morning. I have combination skin and I didn't experience any clogged pores while using it, only super soft, hydrated, soothed skin. Love. You can get Flower and Spice Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser here.
Lena Wild Harmony Bloom Oil, African Botanics Fleurs d'Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil Boxwalla, Ranavat Botanics Radiant Rani Illuminating Serum Indie Beauty Spotlight Discovery Beauty Heroes
Facial oil

I had to choose three. First is African Botanics Fleurs d'Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil* (review) which is in my opinion the best oil ever! This oil contains plant based Retinol, Baobab, Marula, Kalahari Seed Oil and much more. It is honestly one of the most potent, active and effective facial oils I've tried. Not every single product works overnight, well this one does. It transforms my skin through the night, making it less inflamed, more calm and even. It does it all and I'm so so impressed. I got this beauty in August Boxwalla Beauty Box (see my review here) which sadly is no longer available but you can get Fleurs d'Afrique here.

Lena Wild Harmony Bloom Oil* (review) is the only facial oil I've tried, used and finished last year. What does that tell you? That I bloody love it! This oil is perfect if you have imbalanced, combination, oily, acne prone skin. It's balancing, doesn't clog the pores or cause breakouts, it actually helps to heal them faster. The oil is lightweight, it is fast absorbing and also has this lovely floral scent of Geranium. I think that this oil will forever be one that I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone but especially to those with problematic skin. You can get Lena Wild Harmony Bloom Oil here.

Ranavat Botanics Radiant Rani Illuminating Serum* (review) is one of those rare facial oils that blew me away upon first application. Ranavat Botanics is a wonderful brand and based on my experience this is one of their hero products (as Jeannie at Beauty Heroes would say). It smells of Roses with a hint of spice, it's quite lightweight and brightening. I actually put it in my previous post where I talked about brightening products (you can check it out here). In general I'm very pleased with Ranavat Botanics products and I think they're a gorgeous brand. I got their Radiant Rani Illuminating Serum in one of the Indie Beauty Spotlight Discoveries by Beauty Heroes here (read my review here).
Earthwise Beauty Yasuni Face Balm
Face balm

Earthwise Beauty Yasuni Face Balm* (review) is the best facial balm I've tried last year. Oh my goodness, this is truly something else. Yasuni contains only potent plant butters and oils, no beeswax, no essential oils, so it's great even for sensitive skin. This balm is super lightweight, it's featherlight and doesn't really feel like a balm. It's very mildly exfoliating since it contains fruit oils with enzymatic properties that help to resurface the skin. It doesn't clog my pores, it's healing and it doesn't feel heavy or greasy. Really special, like all Earthwise Beauty products. You can get Yasuni Face Balm here ("Loveliness" saves you 15%).
Flower and Spice Instant Glow Claming Exfoliator Lavender and Fennel

I had to choose the stunning Instant Glow Calming Exfoliator* from Flower and Spice (review). This product has a beautiful scent of Fennel with a hint of Lavender that is making me want to use it more often than just once a week. But I don't do that cause really there's no need to. Instant Glow really gives you an instant glow and I love that it works so quickly. All you really need are a few minutes. First you massage it over your skin for a minute and then leave for a minute as a mask. Rinse off, done. It's very effective and sometimes it makes my skin a little red (but only if I don't follow the instructions and leave it on for more than just two minutes) but I always have more radiant and plump skin afterwards. I'm such a fan. You can get Flower and Spice Instant Glow Calming Exfoliator here.
Ayuna Balm Volcanic Revitalizing Face Mask Beauty Heroes Level Up Discovery
Isla Apothecary Refine + Radiate Beautifying Face Mask Love Lula
Face mask

I love, love, love a good face masks and I had more that I wanted to talk about but in the end I went with "just" two. Ayuna Balm - Volcanic Revitalizing Mask* (review) is like Fleurs d'Afrique facial oil from African Botanics, I don't use it every day but when I do I know that the next day my skin will be super happy and radiant. I use it about twice a month or so (I would definitely do it more often but this baby ain't cheap!) and every time I rinse it off I'm thinking to myself "thank you for being here for me" haha. Dramatic but it's true. Based on Activated Charcoal or Active Carbon this mask is not only purifying and detoxifying but also very calming - it always reduces inflammation. That's why I especially love it when my skin is either congested or when I squeezed all the blackheads I found on my skin. It just makes everything more even and oh so nice. What else can I say but that I'm already dreading the day when I run out of it. I got Ayuna Balm Volcanic Revitalizing Mask in Arjun's LEVEL UP Discovery by Beauty Heroes (check it out here).

From expensive to more affordable, here I have the Refine + Radiate Beautifying Face Mask* from Isla Apothecary (review). With Coconut, Sandalwood and Turmeric, this mask is simple in its ingredients but very effective. It's very softening and hydrating because of the coconut powder but also brightening because of the amazing turmeric. This mask can also be used as a cleanser and exfoliator, but I would suggest applying it more in the evenings rather in the mornings, because it can give a slight yellow tint to the skin. Besides a few drops of water you can also add some raw honey and some other powder mask to dilute it a little bit and that way it's more than fine to use in the morning as well. There are a few brands that impressed me last year and Isla Apothecary is definitely one of them. You can get their Refine + Radiate Beautifying Face Mask here.

There are so many other gorgeous products I had the pleasure of trying out last year and you better believe when I say that it wasn't easy to choose. I hope you enjoyed reading my faves/new discoveries from 2018. Spot any of your favourites??

Love you so much,

Jana xx
