My Current Morning Skincare Routine

marec 21, 2018

Happy Spring my loves! Following the video I posted the other day on my Instagram (check it out here) I wanted to tell you more about the products I've been using and loving for the last couple of weeks, some even longer. My skin is combination, fairly sensitive and I'm quite prone to clogged pores. I don't have perfect skin (my latest skin crush is the beautiful Kate Bosworth. Oh gosh! And have you seen her lashes?!), and that's actually been the reason I got into skincare products all those years ago. Thankfully my skin has been doing quite good at the moment. I don't get any major acne or pimples any more but I often times have more tiny bumps and blackheads that I would like. And a few blemishes that are not really spots but they look more like irritated skin. I also have redness in my skin, pretty much all is there because I pick spots. I'm winning at something though - my skin is hydrated and I very rarely have dry skin patches (sometimes but only because I picked a spot).
Morning Skincare Routine using natural and organic products. Siam Seas, Fitglow, Maya Chia, Mono Naturoils, Earthwise Beauty.
Siam Seas YEN Heal and Hydrate Toner. Beauty Heroes March 2018.
It depends on my mood but at least three times a week I wash my face with lukewarm to cold water. I properly remove all my makeup and wash my face in the evening so I don't feel like there's need to use another cleanser in the morning. Sometimes I feel like I'm already overdoing it with all the products and constant testing and trying out new things so just pure, wonderful water does the job beautifully.

Next is the best toner ever, the Siam Seas Yen Heal & Hydrate Toner*, from the March Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery. This stuff is so amazing I can't even! It's a toner but it's SO much more than just a toner. Someone described it as an essence (you know those Korean essences?) which I agree with. I also said that if it were in a different packaging we would be calling it a serum. A lightweight and runny serum but a serum nonetheless. Yen combines Aloe Vera, a few different Hydrosols, light oils and many (other) ingredients sourced from South East Asia. This toner is very hydrating, it really is a hydration booster and I also find it balancing. It's a stunning product and I completely understand why it was the Hero product in the Beauty Heroes box and why it was the first ever toner featured as a Hero. Because of its consistency, its density, I apply it to the palm of my hands and press into my skin. It's pure joy. Read my review here. If you are a Beauty Heroes member you can get it in their store with the 15% discount - get it here.
Fitglow Redness Rescue Cream. Beauty Heroes February 2018.
My go-to serum/lightweight cream has been the Redness Rescue Cream by Fitglow*. This product was in the February Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery. Fitglow founder Anna Buss spent decades dealing with sunburnt, rosacea and weather-beat skin so she took it to herself to formulate a product that would help with all that. Her secret is the proprietary C3 plant blend, featuring Comfrey, Calendula and Chamomile. This cream visibly reduces redness. Not really the post-acne redness but redness caused by irritation and such. I didn't find it reduces redness instantly but it does work fairly quick. It's working so well on my skin and I'm so pleased this cream was introduced to me by Beauty Heroes. The cream is lightweight, it's easily absorbed into the skin leaving it not only less red but also hydrated. It's so lovely! And it also doesn't clog my pores. Get it here.
Maya Chia The Eye Achiever. Beauty Heroes January 2018.
Maya Chia The Eye Achiever* is another product from a Beauty Heroes box, this one was featured in their January Beauty Discovery. I swear this post isn't sponsored by them, I just love them dearly and their selection of products is so on point. The Eye Achiever is a "multi-correctional eye serum", a beautiful oil that nourishes and softens the delicate skin around the eyes. Nourishment & hydration is so important when it comes to taking care of your skin and that definitely helps with the appearance (or the lack) of fine lines. The ingredients in this serum are stunning. The stars are of course the supercritical Chia Seed Oil and Astaxanthin, which I love dearly ever since I've tried Maya Chia's The Super Couple. What an amazing oil that is. Naturally there are more antioxidant rich ingredients such as Raspberry, Rooibos Tea, Pomegranate, Cranberry, Sea Lavender and more. All blended beautifully and packaged in a roll-on bottle which I love using. Since it is an oil I don't think everyone would enjoy it in the mornings and under makeup but I see no problem at all. I apply a little and that works great! Get it here.
Mono Naturoils Sensitive Facial Oil.
As my last step I mix two products to create a sun protective & nutrient rich concoction: Mono Naturoils Sensitive Facial Oil* and Earthwise Beauty Farizad's Veil Sun Protection Powder*. First it's the oil. You guys, I fell in love with Mono Naturoils! I've had a pleasure of trying out a few of their products and they are all so good! Sensitive Facial Oil is a potent amber nectar that nourishes, protects and rejuvenates on a cellular level. It's formulated without essential oils which I love. There are Prickly Pear, Buriti, Argan, Blackcurrant, Poppy Seed Oil and more. This oil is nourishing and anti-inflammatory. Skin is soothed and radiant. This serum is a beaut! Oh and it's infused and amplified with the gentle vibrational energy of Aventurine. Love. Get it here.
Earthwise Beauty Farizad's Veil Sun Protective Powder. SPF. Sunscreen. Boxwalla Beauty Box 2017.
Earthwise Beauty Farizad's Veil Sun Protective Powder* is my absolute favourite sunscreen! Based on non-nano uncoated Zinc Oxide this powder sunscreen provides a wonderful UV protection and it's also anti-acne and anti-inflammatory. It's THE perfect sunscreen if you have oily, acne-prone, combination skin but it can definitely be used on all skin types. Since it is a powder you can mix it with literally any product you like, either a serum, moisturizer or an oil. I love mixing it with an oil. It's mattifying which is almost unheard of when it comes to sunscreen, at least natural SPF products. If you use a lot of powder and a little bit of oil it can give the skin a slight white cast but nothing too obvious. It actually works almost as a skin filter and I'm so not mad about that. It's truly amazing and I love it so much. I highly recommend! EWB is in the process of changing their packaging and I'm really looking forward to see it. So if you like the current packaging definitely order asap or wait for the new launch. Either way you can get it in their store here and by using my code "Loveliness" you can get 15% off your order. In Europe it is available at the Eminessences shop.

Do you use any of these products? How does your morning skincare routine look like?

With love,

Jana xx
