Kahina Giving Beauty Moisture Mask

March 13, 2018

Third post about a mask in a row. If you love masks then I'm sure you're enjoying these articles, but if not know vthat I will post about something else next time. So far I've tried three products from Kahina Giving Beauty, so the brand is not new to me. I've reviewed their Serum here and their Facial Cleanser here. I loved every product I've tried from them and the Moisture Mask in no exception.

Founded by Katharine L’Heureux, Kahina Giving Beauty (Kahina is the name for a Berber queen and prophetess who reigned in Morocco circa 700 CE) sources rare, essential ingredients from women's cooperatives around the world and a percentage of all profits are donated to support the women working there. The brand is certified organic, fair trade, mindful when it comes to sustainability and environmentally friendly - their outer packaging is created from 100% post-consumer waste and their bottles are made from high quality recyclable violet glass, which acts as a powerful preservative by blocking out damaging UV rays. And you know how I feel about this kind of packaging. Read more about it here.Kahina Giving Beauty Moisture Mask. Art of Organics Clean Beauty Box December 2017

Kahina Giving Beauty Moisture Mask* is one of the loveliest and most effective moisturizing & hydrating masks I've tried. It is just so lovely! The mask is based on Aloe Vera juice, Sunflower and Argan Oils. It contains ingredients rich in vitamins and antioxidants like Prickly Pear Seed Oil, ingredients that soothe the skin, reduce redness and are anti-inflammatory, like Mushroom & Aspen Bark Extracts, and ingredients that draw moisture deeply into the skin like Sodium Hyaluronate, which has a smaller molecular size than Hyaluronic Acid, and is able to hold more water than any other natural substance. It has a light floral scent of Rose, Geranium, Lavender, Neroli, Blue Tansy, and Sandalwood. The Sandalwood used is the santalum spicata wood oil (yay!), if you remember me talking about Sandalwood here.

I love a product that does everything it promises and this mask ticks all the boxes.
Deeply hydrates and plumps the skin - check.
Reduces redness - check.
Refines skin tone and texture - check.
Increases skin’s water reserves and improves skin barrier function - check.

This mask can be used as a mask or as a moisturizer. I love to apply quite a thick layer and let that sink in. To my surprise the mask is quickly absorbed into the skin leaving sort of like a slight tightening film, but nothing uncomfortable really. After the mask is all absorbed, I don't wash it off but I rather massage it into my skin and leave it on overnight. Not that I would need to but I also apply two drops of oil on top. I've been using the Mono Naturoils Sensitive Facial Oil* and I find this oils really lovely. My skin is so well moisturized and hydrated and when that's the case the skin always looks better and is healthier. The next morning my skin is clear, less red and properly moisturized. This mask really is wonderful and I highly recommend it.
