Beauty Heroes March 2018 Beauty Discovery feat. Siam SEAS

marec 02, 2018

Hi babes! I've been seeing some pretty good traffic from people searching "siam seas review" so I better be quick about posting my review of the new Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery featuring Siam SEAS*. Looks like it will be another good month for BH, which mean subscribe asap if you fancy the sound of Siam SEAS products. Which I'm sure you do or you will be. I have already talked about the brand and their stunning products in this post. Before moving forward I have to say I'm still dreaming of Siam SEAS' Twilight BeCalm Skin Serum and Elena from Consumerista says that now it's even better than before. Check out her thoughts on it here. It has been reformulated and supposedly it's amazing. But today let's talk about another Siam SEAS "serum". And a cleanser.

Siam SEAS was founded by Supadra Geronimo, who started having problems with her skin when she moved from Thailand to the United States. Her soothing rituals learned from her mother and grandmother were edged out by a busier life and career. As a result, her skin became very sensitive, problematic and acne-prone. After trying out loads of products she found her inspiration on her honeymoon to Kauai in 2009. That reignited her passion for mixing her own skincare formulas using unique, potent ingredients sent from family in Thailand - ingredients not available anywhere else. And she saw immediate improvement in both her skin and her confidence, and that’s when Siam SEAS was born.

Siam SEAS Beauty Heroes March 2018 Subscription Box. Yen Heal and Hydrate and Morning Delight Cleanser.
Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner is anything but your standard toner. It's almost hard to describe it as a toner and if it were in a different packaging I'm sure we would be calling it a serum. I like how Beauty Heroes described it on the card that comes in the box: "After one spray of this exotic and complex formula, you'll agree that this description is a misnomer of the best kind. Neither hydrosol nor serum..."  Hashtag "TonerNotToner" is giving me life! Perhaps we should take a look at the ingredient list so you can understand me it better. It starts with Organic Aloe Vera and in my book that is the perfect base for a gorgeous toner. There are 27 botanical extracts in this toner: entwined in the synergistic foundation to infuse skin cells with healing actives and powerful antioxidants. There are hydrosols like Cucumber, Geranium, Lavender and Chamomile and there are light oils of Raspberry, Cucumber Seed, Prickly Pear and Sacha Inchi. There are some interesting ones (I beg you not to ask me what they are): Tamarind Extract, Terminalia Chebula, Kacip Fatimah. The ingredient list can be overwhelming but it's also so lovely to see all these gorgeous ingredients that make Yen what it is. This stuff is really potent and as the same says - hydrating. And yes I do think it's healing as well. I don't have a serum at the moment so I use this toner as a toner and a serum, like a two in one product. The spray mister doesn't spray the product out like a toner does. Beauty Heroes are aware of this and they did write on the card that due to density of the formula of Yen, settling may occur. I always shake the bottle before each application and rather than spraying it directly onto my face, I spray it to the palm of my hand and gently press into my skin. I use three or four pumps or spritz and that's more than enough for my whole face. Sometimes I wait for it to sink in and layer some more Yen on top. Because of the dispenser or rather because of the formula I don't use it as a makeup setting spray or a pick-me up toner but I don't mind that. I have other toners I can use for that and Yen almost feels too good to apply on top of my makeup and not directly onto cleansed skin. I don't think my review can do it justice. Yen really is a stunning product. It's so far from being "just" a toner. It really is an understatement to call it like that. I really do understand why is it a Hero product. Oh and I love the scent as well! Peony, Frankincense, Champaca (Magnolia family), Ginger Lily, Vanilla, Rose Geranium. It's impossible for me to describe it AND do it justice. It's lightly sweet, floral, rich, deep, transportive, bewitching. It's as unique as is the whole Yen formula. Just try it okay? Check it out here.
Beauty Heroes March 2018 Beauty Discovery Siam SEAS. Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner. Morning Delight Cleanser.
The Sidekick is the Siam SEAS' new product, the Morning Delight All-in-one Morning Cleanser. What can I say but that it's equally beautiful as Yen? It sounds like it can only be used as a morning cleanser but you can easily use it as a second cleanser in the evening as well, even as a first since it does remove makeup. It's "an all-day affair". Supadra created Morning Delight as a simple AM cleansing ritual to awaken the skin and senses, and to bless each new day. Ah bless. To me this cleanser doesn't have the same enchanting scent as Yen has but I have a feeling it's that kind of scent that grows on you. I mean it was the same with Yen. I love that scent more and more every day. Morning Delight feels like an oil at the beginning but when you splash some water on top it transforms into this gentle non-oily, very pale milk coloured cleanser that completely rinses off with water. There is no need for a wash cloth which I find strange after years of removing my makeup with oil and balm cleansers. I love that it contains Papaya Enzymes which work to resurface and exfoliate the skin. There's also Castor Oil, Mangosteen, Gotu Kola. Find the full list of ingredients here. There is one ingredient that I was a bit wary of, the Di-PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate. After a quick google search I found out that the creation of this ingredient involves ethoxylation. I don't want to go into too much details but a possible by product of ethoxylation can be 1,4 Dioxane, a possible human carcinogen. Yikes! I talked to Jeannie (the Beauty Heroes founder) and she reassured me that this ingredient was tested (by a 3rd party) for 1,4 Dioxane and that it is free from it. She believes that this ingredient is safe. This ingredient is a surfactant and I understand that without it Morning Delight wouldn't be the same. I'm no chemist so I don't know a whole lot about ingredients (at least not in the chemist kinda way) but I would prefer something else to be honest. Saying all this I do use and love Morning Delight. You can get it here.
