Hi lovelies! Hope you’re all having a lovely start of the new month. I wanted to start August with lots of love and share with you some bits and bobs that really blown me away. I’ve been struggling with the title of this post because this is not a favourites post but rather first impression/I’m really impressed with these products but I’m not ready to write a full on reviews of them. Not sure about you, but I test the majority of my products for a few weeks, if not months. Especially when it comes to skincare! So yeah like I said this post is going to be all about products that impressed me with first or tenth use. Not sure with which product should I start since I pretty much fell in love with all of them.
Davids Premium Natural Toothpaste is a toothpaste I wanted to try for a while but unfortunately they didn’t ship to Europe. Luckily they are now available in the Beauty Heroes Beauty Shop and with my latest order I got not only one, but two. I thought to myself everybody is already loving this toothpaste so why not get two? I’m so pleased I did. Davids toothpastes are made from premium natural ingredients, without sulfates, artificial flavours, sweeteners, colors, preservatives, of course they are also flouride free. No animal testing and vegan as well. I love the packaging which is made from recyclable metal tube and you know what really makes my heart sing? That little tool that the toothpaste comes with it. I always wanted one of those haha. After using it three times I can honestly say that this is the best natural toothpaste I’ve ever tried. It’s like a conventional toothpaste. Tastes very fresh and minty, and it actually also sting my mouth a bit. I never liked that burning feel when using conventional toothpastes but this one doesn’t burn my tongue out and at the same time it does have a little kick to it which I like. Thumbs up!
Lately I’ve been very much into bar soaps. I wish to minimize my bathroom products waste and what better way to do that then with good old soaps? I made my own soap before, multiple times, but I found it a bit too drying to use in the shower so I ordered Trevarno Organic Soap Selection* and hoped for the best. I’ve tried some Trevarno products in the past and really liked them so I kinda knew I would like the soaps but you know how it is, some can be drying on the skin. Well these are very lovely. There are five different soaps in this box and I’ve tried two of them – Propolis and Lavender & Geranium. They all have quite a similar base of ingredients like, saponified Olive and Coconut Oils, Shea and Cocoa Butter. Propolis is used for it healing and restorative benefits, especially good for very dry or unhappy skin. I love this one! It provides a nice lather, cleanses my skin beautifully, it’s not drying (just a touch to be really honest, but nothing major!) and I’ve just really been a fan of it. Lavender & Geranium soap on the other hand is slightly more drying so I rather use it as a hand soap and it works great for that. I’m excited to try the rest of them.
Talking about bar soaps I have another one I want to mention. This one is actually a shampoo! I’ve tried a few solid shampoo bars but I never liked them, at all! I always found them very, very drying and greasy at the same time. They just didn’t do their job properly. I used them up as hand soaps at the end. Then a few weeks ago my cousins were very interested in trying out some solid shampoo bars and I quickly went on Etsy and found the brand Funky Soap. For my first shampoo from them I opted for the Acai Berry Shampoo and I couldn’t have been happier with it. Lathers really beautifully, it’s so easy to use and it makes such a good job of cleansing my hair. I’m so pleased with it. It is just slighty drying but since it leaves my hair soft and smooth, I really don’t find that to be a problem. Funky Soap is a UK brand, 100% natural and handmade, not tested on animals and this Acai berry shampoo is also suitable for vegans. As opposed to Trevarno soaps, this one does contains Palm Oil BUT it’s certified sustainable palm oil which I’m so happy to support. You can read more about palm oil in this post. Yeah, I like this shampoo very much.
Next are some very lovely skincare products. First is Phytonutri Daily Cleansing Oil* from another UK brand, Mel Millis. I adore this cleansing oil. The scent, omg the scent of this product is Divine! Ingredients are 100% certified organic and the truly gorgeous, relaxing yet uplifting scent comes from the blend of Sweet Orange, Chamomile, Lavender and Geranium. So. In. Love. The cleanser is suitable for all skin types and is enriched with the plant oils of Apricot, Avocado and Camellia. It works well at removing my makeup and excess dirt, and leaves my skin fresh and soft. It’s a beautiful, beautiful product! I actually already mentioned this product on my Facebook page for its lovely packaging which is infused with dried wild British flowers. I posted up a videoof planting the packaging and I’ve been watering them every day and the paper packaging just recently disintegrated. At least it looks that way when I stir around some dirt in the pot. Fingers crossed there will be some flowers peeking through soon. I’m overly excited about that haha.
The next product that positively surprised me is the Firming Eye Gel* from John Masters Organics. After testing out the texture on my skin I honestly didn’t expect that much from this eye gel but it’s actually better than I thought. It is exactly what is says it it, a gel. A super lightweight gel made with the base of Aloe Vera, Rose Flower Water and Rye Seed Extract. Plant extract in the product help to reduce inflammation and puffiness while helping to prevent damage from free radicals. The Eye Gel is hydrating and because it is so lightweight it’s been a dream to use in this past few weeks. I don’t see any big differences regarding fine lines around my eyes but I love that it’s hydrating. Luckily I don’t have problems with puffy eyes but I do see it helping with that, especially if you would store it in the fridge. It’s a great everyday eye cream, especially for summer.
Last but most certainly not least a product from one of my favourite brands. Can you guess which one is it? Leahlani Skincare, of course! Leah’s creations are truly magical and if there ever is a brand you should try then Leahlani is definitely it. I’ve been a fan of the brand for so long now and my love is forever growing. The product I’ve been loving lately is Aloha Ambrosia Morning Moisture Elixir*. It’s an exotic feast for the skin, carefully formulated to hydrate and nourish the skin with organic Aloe and a potent blend of organic, Antioxidant rich tropical fruit oils such as Mangosteen, Goji Berry, Passion Fruit and Guava. It has quite a strong tropical scent, which I love & adore but at the first sniff it was just a tad too strong for me. When applied to the skin the scent is just right and it’s one of those happy scents that bring a smile to my face. And that is always a good thing in the morning. I love that this oil is lightweight and easily absorbed into the skin & it doesn’t clog my pores. It’s a very yummy product.
Have you tried any of these products? Care to share your thoughts?
Happy Wednesday!
With love,
Jana xx
