Beauty Heroes x Small Bits of Loveliness

April 12, 2017

Today is the 12th of April and this day is special to me because exactly one year ago I posted my first ever article about the amazing and wonderful Beauty Heroes. I've been a Beauty Heroes brand ambassador for a whole year and it's been a dream! The whole process started way sooner than in April 2016 and I can't even explain how excited, honoured and humbled I felt when the beautiful Jeannie Jarnot, the founder, reached out to me and asked ME to join the Beauty Heroes tribe. I was like hell yeah, how soon can we make it happen?! The excitement was real and I kinda jumped up and down from joy. Being a BH brand ambassador is the best thing ever and I really couldn't be more grateful to be a part of such wonderful community.

I don't think it's necessary for me to write about what Beauty Heroes is, I'm sure you all know by now. It's one of the best, if not THE best beauty subscription boxes and each month you discover a luxury brand, find all about its founder(s), the philosophy and all the good stuff, and you get to try at least two products from the featured brand. You always receive a Hero product, which is a full size product and a Sidekick, usually a deluxe sample (or two). You get all that for less than $40 a month and let me tell you that their deal is so, so amazing because the value of each box is usually much higher, often times more than $100. If you're interested in learning more about Beauty Heroes do check out my post about it, or better yet head over to Beauty Heroes where you'll learn all about their wonderful philosophy and you can else check out the Circle of Trust where you will see other beautiful ambassadors.
I wasn't sure what kind of post should I do for my one year anniversary. After some thinking I decided I should just write about my favourite Beauty Heroes boxes and featured products. I have a few stand outs, products I still love and adore. Some wowed me immediately and some needed a few weeks for me to fall in love with. Now since I already reviewed them I will only say a few words about each product and link the reviews.
June Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery ft. Modern Minerals. My Hero from this box was the Modern Moonstone Cream Highlighter (review), the most beautiful highlighter I've ever used. It's an absolutely stunning golden, warm highlighter with ultra-silky texture. I love applying it on the tops of my cheeks and on the top of the brow bone. It makes my feature pop and oh my god you need it in your life! So flattering and perfect for summer. It's just so stunning. One other gorgeous product from this box is the Padparadscha Lotus Wei infused Lip Gloss (review), a coral red with gold shimmer. The colour is so pretty, it smells lovely and this gloss really was THE lip product of last summer. Beautiful.
July Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery ft. Kari Gran. The Hero was the Three Sixty Five SPF 28 (review). Finding a good sunscreen is quite hard, especially if you're pretty much obsessed with ingredients and at the same time also want something lightweight, without any white residue. I will say it's much easier to find a good sunscreen now than it was years ago but it's still amazing when you find such a beautiful product. Now that I'm older I'm noticing that having a good daily sunscreen really is crucial to battle the aging process. Just think of all the damage UV rays causes. I think everyone should use sunscreen on a daily basis, even if you're not out on the sun all day. When I heard that the sun increases the damage of those red post acne scars and makes them harder to disappear, I was like give me all the sunscreens in the world. But as you know not every product is good. Here comes Three Sixty Five, which sure as hell is really good. The product is packed with gorgeous ingredients, the kind of ingredients that you don't even need to apply a moisturizer because it can act as a cream + a sunscreen in one. I rarely used it like that because I prefer (and want!) to apply my normal skincare product under it. The sunscreen contains oils but I still use an oil of my face and I don't find it heavy. Mind you I only use a few drops of oils, not as much as I use in the evening. I don't mind if I have that dewy look for a few minutes and even when it absorbs into the skin, it's still a bit dewy and not matte. I love that. The sunscreen feels great on my skin, it doesn't clog my pores, doesn't dry out my skin (like some do) and it's just amazing. I really adore it and I actually love it even more than I did when I wrote the review last year. So if you're looking for a good sunscreen, I would definitely recommend trying this one.
September Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery ft. UMA Oils. The Hero was the Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil (review) and oh my word this was probably the first hair oil I didn't like. Yes, at the beginning I really wasn't fond of it. But after talking to Jeannie and UMA's founder Shrankhla, she recommended I use less. The thing was that the oil was too heavy for my hair and it didn't wash out properly. So I started using less and that's when everything changed. I felt completely in love with this oil and after receiving it, I tried some other hair oils but I always go back to the UMA one. Believe me when I say this is, it is the most stunning hair oil ever! It makes my hair ridiculously soft, smooth and shiny. And you only need a few drops of it to make all this happen. The oil also stood the ultimate test - on our vacation last September. As you know sea water always makes hair a bit dry and tangled, but not with this oil. My hair was soft no matter the sea salt and that's also one of the reasons why I adore it so freaking much. Now for the Sidekick, the Ultimate Brightening Face Mask (review). It is equally beautiful and effective. I love that it's so brightening and calming. It's yet another gorgeous product from UMA Oils.
November Beauty Heroes Beauty Discovery ft. Josh Rosebrook. The Hero was the Cacao Antioxidant Face Mask (review). To be completely honest before trying out this mask I heard it's good, even amazing, but I was questioning if it's really as good as others were saying. I had my doubts but boy was I proven wrong! This mask is one of the most effective masks I've ever tried. No joke. It's so, so brightening, calming and tightening. I especially love my skin the morning after, it looks refreshed, healthier and my skin tone is more even. I'm obsessed. The mask has a magical blend of ingredients that would pretty much work on every skin. The star of it is the delicious and antioxidant rich Cacao which also gives the mask its dark, rich colour. This is truly a luxurious and decadent mask with a beautiful scent. It's a joy to use.
These products were my absolute favourite from the Beauty Heroes boxes I've tried. I can't end this post without a few more products I loved and still do. The Laurel Whole Plant Organics Sun Damage Repair Serum (review) and Maya Chia The Super Couple (short review) are two amazing serums. Sadly I already used the Laurel's blend which really made my hyperpigmentation marks disappear sooner. I'm still going strong with The Super Couple. I've been using it ever since I got it in January. They are both such lovely facial serums and I recommend both of them. I'm also really loving the sidekick from February's box, the Osmia Lip Doctor (review). It's such a wonderful lip balm, very nourishing and rich. I adore it. Now that I'm thinking about BH boxes, another product came to mind, the wonderful Kahina Giving Beauty Moroccan Rose Beldi Soap and the accompanying Kessa Mitt (review). If you want the softest skin ever then look no further. No joke! Kessa mitt exfoliates my skin like nothing else and my skin is beyond smooth and soft. Wow!
I've been going on and on about past BH discoveries but what about this April's box? This month we were surprised with the gorgeous brand based in Miami, Lilfox. The hero of the box is the Jungle Glow Enzyme Cleanser + Mask, a beautiful mask made with raw rainforest Honey, raw Cacao, Amazonian White Clay and more. The sidekick is also a mask, the Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask and this product is just stunning. I find it very brightening and toning. I adore face masks so this box couldn't have been better for me. The thing is that you not only get two masks but you actually get three, because you can mix Jungle Glow and Cleopatra to create a third mask. Love. Will do a full review soon. As always, you can get this box by joining Beauty Heroes here.

I wish I could express all the joy and excitement Beauty Heroes brings and being a Beauty Heroes brand ambassador is literally the best thing that happened on my blogging journey. I know I'm keep repeating myself but I really am so thankful and grateful. My heart is bursting with love.

Much love to you all,

Jana xx
