Lily Lolo Premiere Collection

December 23, 2016

Since it's the time of year when you can wear all the sparkle in the world (not that other times you can't) and get away with it, I have for you a limited edition Premiere Collection* by Lily Lolo. This collection consists of three sparkling mineral eye shadows and as they say, special occasions were made for this dazzling trio.
When it comes to makeup and especially when it comes to eye shadows I don't have much to say, other than all three are super pigmented. You don't only get glitters and sparkles (which is the case sometimes) but also the colour. They are easily blendable, their lasting time is quite good (I did notice some fading) and they don't crease that much, if at all (which really depends on the priming game). They work great on top of other eye shadows or on their own. They are truly beautiful and mesmerizing. They give a massive punch of shimmer to the eyes. Even though they are mineral, they don't fly everywhere and you don't end up with a disco face, only disco eyes. But if you are not careful the hands can be a bit shimmery. The jars have lockable sifters which is just wonderful and something I look for in loose mineral makeup. No sifter, huge mess - that is usually what happens to me. All in all, these three eye shadows are absolutely gorgeous *insert heart eyed emoji*. I'm in love!
The first one is my favourite out of the three, Limelight which is described as bright light gold. The most versatile colour of the three and one I reach for the most. Next is Show Stopper, a deep brown/bronze shade and Curtain Call, described as crystal pink. Let the colours speak for themself. They are so gorgeous and I can only wish I could capture their true beauty.
Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas time. Not only filled with love and happiness, but also with lots of sparkles.

Much love,

Jana xx

Things I Took with Me: Budapest Edition

December 12, 2016

When it comes to skincare I’m not a minimalist. I like the whole concept of it and I would love to be one but it’s just not in my nature. So how can a person who most of the time likes to use a number of skin products pack for a short trip when doesn’t want to carry a lot but still wish to satisfy all skin needs? Well then you pack lots of little products.
Of course I will start with a makeup remover. I’ve just recently started using Lyonsleaf Beauty Balm* and I’m really impressed. I’ve said quite a bunch of things on this UK brand on my Instagram. To sum up it –  it’s cruelty free, some products are also vegan, homemade, homegrown, they are minimizing the use of plastic, using recycling and recyclable packaging, and more. Plus the brand also has affordable products. So, the Beauty Balm is a balm with the likes of Babassu Oil, Shea Butter, Macadamia Nut Oil, and more lovely ingredients (95% organic/wild harvested). The balm is vegan and has the loveliest consistency. It has a consistency of a balm but a bit different than you standard balm. I think it’s like that because it doesn’t contain beeswax. It’s more soft and smooth, it’s really beautiful. Smells like Sage but not that strong because it also contains some other essential oils, like Palmarosa, Rosemary and Patchouli. The balm turns into an oil when it comes in contact with skin, obviously. It removes my makeup quite easily and leaves my skin soft and fresh. It is a gorgeous product and it would be a very lovely gift, since it comes with three wash cloths, which is perfect for someone who would like to try oil cleansing method but doesn't know where to start.
After removing my makeup and all the nasties from the city (Budapest is a big city, bigger than where I live, so a nice scrub a dub dub with a wash cloth was necesary), I applied the Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator*. This has been my toner of choice ever since I got it in the Beauty Heroes Box. I’ve heard so many amazing things about this product and its extra hydrating benefits. This is an Aloe Vera Water and herbal moisturizing mist. This mist contains a lot of ingredients, like a lot lot. It’s a very unique mist since it doesn’t contain only waters and hydrosols but also oils, like Jojoba, Marula, Evening Primrose, and so on. I guess these ingredients make the product really hydrating. I encourage you to check out the ingredient list, since it is very special and unique. To be honest, I love toners and mists but I’m not really sure if they make a massive difference in my skin. I love applying them because the oils and balms applied on to sink quicker into the skin (and I'm all about mixing water + oils), and I just love the feel of misting my face. Is it really as hydrating as everyone says it is? I think it is. It’s much, much better than just any old pure rose hydrosol, in fact I can’t even compare it with a toner like that. At first I wasn’t that wowed with it, but the more I use it the more I like it. Now that I'm always out of it I really like it! The fact that it mostly smell of Ylang Ylang doesn’t hurt too. I haven’t tried Josh Rosebrook products before, but I am really impressed with this mist. I'm even more impressed and in love with Josh's Cacao Antioxidant Mask*. Based on those two I’m excited to try more.
Luxe Botanics Kigelia Clarifying Serum* and KigeliaClarifying Moisturizer* (deluxe samples) are two products from a new Australian brand Luxe Botanics, a botanic skincare range designed for the wellness conscious woman. The range consists of three ranges and this Clarifying range is based on Kigelia Africana from Malawi. This ingredient is a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and DNA repairing extract with high levels of antioxidants. The serum and moisturizer are both very lightweight, have a gel like consistency (serum is even lighter, almost like a thick water) and are not only anti-inflammatory and great at reducing redness, but also hydrating. I’ve been using the two for a few weeks in the morning (a little goes a long way) and they have been really wonderful to my skin. The range is ideal for acne prone, sensitive, irritated or oily skin types. Fyi, the moisturizer contains some palm oil derivatives and I think you all know how I feel about that (read this article), but the founder Jene reassured me they are from a sustainable source (as are the coconut oil derivatives), which is just wonderful! If I'm not mistaken for now you can only get these products in the Discovery Kit
Province Apothecary Clear Skin Advanced Face Serum with Jojoba & Sea Buckthorn* is an oil serum made specifically for oily to combination skin. The first two ingredients are Camellia and Argan Oils but it's the third ingredient that is interesting - Jojoba Oil infused with different herbs, like Calendula Flowers, Green Tea and Nettle Leaves, to name some. The oil also contains some heavy duty anti-inflammatory ingredients like Turmeric and Neem OilThis oil is quite thick and do I dare say heavy, so you only need two or three drops of it to cover your whole face. Eve though it's recommended more in my experience two drops of it in the morning is ideal for my skin and it’s just the right amount to put makeup on top of it. Sometimes I also use their Clear Skin Advanced Spot Treatment*, which is highly concentrated with some of the same ingredients as the face serum. Both products are very nice and they work lovely on my skin.
Earthwise Beauty Passion Eye Serum* is one of newest products that the lovely Ava created. It's an oil based serum but it's so much more than your typical oil serum. This product doesn't contain only plant oils but also butters, which makes the blend more nourishing and surprisingly less heavy and greasy. It quickly sinks into the skin, much quicker than I expected. The eye serum only leaves soft and smooth skin, and the makeup can be easily applied on top. I don't experience any creasing of my makeup or anything like that. The product is based on Amaranth Oil and I love me some amaranth oil (talking about the Gaia Creams Oat  & Amaranth Serum of course!) + Green Coffee Bean Oil and Andiroba Oil (both for treating under dark eye circles and puffiness), Passion Fruit, Sea Buckthorn and more good stuff. It also contains gem essences and NO essential oils, which is just perfect for those who are sensitive to them. As for the results go, I can't say much about that because I haven't been using it that long and I usually see better results after using my products for a longer period of time. But I can tell you that the product is making my skin around the eyes hydrated and soft.
As a last step in my evening routine I applied the Max and Me Sweet Serenity Balm*. At home I'm using the most stunning products ever, the Siam Seas Balm* and Serum* (which I got in the Boxwalla box) but since I didn't want to travel with them (I would die if they would break!), I went with the smallest balm I own. Max and Me is one of the most beautiful brands there is, their packaging is so beyond on point and the fact that they are from Austria (which if you don't know is a county just near Slovenia, so not far from me) is making the whole thing even more special. Serenity Balm is the cutest little balm with a heavy Ylang Ylang scent. In a base of Shea Butter there are ingredients like Rosehip, Tamanu, Cranberry, Prickly Pear Oil, and Manuka Honey, for example. Don't they sound beautiful? It's said to benefit hard to treat skin issues (like neurodermatitis, rosacea...). Luckily I don't struggle with those so you'll have to try on your own if it helps with that, what I can tell you is that it's a beautiful treat for the skin, it's calming, softening and nourishing.

There you have it, this was my evening routine when I was staying in Budapest. In the morning I used everything but the two balms and I simply washed my face with water.

Wishing you a beautiful week!

With love,

Jana xx

The Gorgeous Tabitha James Kraan Trio

December 08, 2016

Remember my review of Tabitha James Kraan Golden Citrus Hair Cleanser and 4-in-1 Conditioner? In short, I'm still really enjoying them. I have three more products from the line to show you and they are equally beautiful, if not more.
First is the one I was immediately blown away with, the Scented Organic Hair Oil*. A rich, decadent hair oil that revives dry hair giving it lasting shine and vitality. The scent of this hair oil is so beautiful and intoxicating. I really like it. It's floral and fresh, due to the blend of Geranium, Rose, Neroli, Orange and Lemon. It's so yummy and makes the whole experience of taking care of my hair even nicer. This oil is 99.5% organic (yas!) and vegan. The combination of nourishing plant oils like Safflower, Rosehip, Argan, Sea Buckthron and Coconut, makes my hair soft and smooth. Like usual I apply it on my dry hair and leave on for a few hours or through the night, and then wash with a shampoo. But not with the TJK Cleanser because I'd use too much of it to remove all the oil. I prefer Acure shampoo for occasions like this. When I remember I also use some oil on my freshly washed hair as a leave-in treatment/conditioner. It's a lovely hair oil indeed. Oh and look closely, you will see there is a crystal in the bottle. Wow! There is an Amethyst in every single bottle of this hair oil (in the Hair Perfume too). Here you can find the story behind it.
Next is their Dry Shampoo for Fair Hair*. I have both, the big bottle + the compact, but so far I've only used the bigger bottle. Like other products, this Dry Shampoo is 100% natural and vegan. Contains 90% organic ingredients and some of those are Tapioca Starch Flour, Rice Powder, Potato Starch, Chickpea Seed Powder, Millet Flour. Should I go on? I love the sound of these ingredients, interesting right? If you can bake something out of the ingredients from your products (like Nelipot is doing), then you know you're on a right track. This dry shampoo is said to balance oily scalp and hair, so if your hair is used to being washed every day, start introducing this dry shampoo on your second day and stick to that routine for a month (28day cycle). You will have great hair on day two and will allow the over production of oil at the scalp to re-balance. I don't use it as such so I can't say it helps with re-balancing my hair, but I sure would need that. I wash my hair every four days but I don't know what has been going on lately, because my hair is oily so quickly (my skin too!). Hormones, I guess. So I do actually use this dry shampoo on the second day (usually), like they suggest. I have to say it's the perfect in-between hair washing product, well almost perfect. It works amazingly well, it sorts out my oily hair, it's really easy to use and quickly absorbed by the hair. I would say that I absolutely love this oil but since it's for fair hair, and I have dark, the dry shampoo is visible in my hair, no matter how much I massage it in. If I use too much it kinda looks like I have dandruff.  So I only use it on my second day when I only use a little. To sum up, this dry shampoo is a wonderful product to have, really, just be careful to pick the one for your hair colour.
Organic Hair Perfume* is probably the most luxurious hair product I have. I mean it's a hair perfume! When I treat my hair on a daily I use an oil, hair or body, whichever scent I like at that moment, but I've never used a hair perfume. Especially not one that is 99,5% organic, and can be also worn on skin. It's described as "strangely addicting" and with I completely agree. At first I didn't get the point of it. I was expecting a different scent, more perfume-like, if you get me. A scent that would turn heads. After a while and with regular use I became quite addicted to it. It has an uplifting scent of Neroli, Bergamot, Lavender and Myrrh. It's a delicate scent, a little sweet but mostly fresh. The thing that makes this hair perfume the one to have is that my hair doesn't have that old-hair-unwashed scent. I know you know what I mean. It also gets rid of that wintery smell. And that's amazing! My hair doesn't smell of the product either, which I don't really mind, as long as they smell fresh. Plus the mist of this product is magnificent, very fine, soft and even. Love!

I'm really impressed with Tabitha James Kraan products. Not only that they really deliver but they are also packaged in the absolutely stunning! bottles (hair perfume is definitely my fave) which makes the whole experience even more luxurious and lovely. Can you tell I adore them? Tabitha James Kraan is a UK brand but don't you worry my American babes, you can get the brand at the Beauty Heroes Beauty Shop. If you're BH subscriber you even get 15% off.

Now I'm off to Hungary for the weekend. :)

Much love to you all,

Jana xx

Odacité Synergie[4] Immediate Skin Perfecting Beauty Masque

December 04, 2016

Hello my name is Jana and I have a serious addiction to face masks. They are my life. Seriously! I don’t know what I’d do without them. If you are wondering what to get me for Christmas (wink wink) then you can't go wrong with a mask, especially a mask suitable for pretty much everyone. With that in mind, let me introduce you to a mask that is all about being versatile and customizable, a mask that launched this year, the Odacité Synergie[4] Immediate Skin Perfecting Beauty Masque*.
Are you fan of DIY-ing? Then this mask would be perfect for you, since it comes in a powder form and you can mix and match it with a number of ingredients from your kitchen or beauty cabinet. The mask works in four different ways so it's actually 4-in-1 mask. I'm like yaas! At the heart of this effective mask treatment: 4 synergies of ingredients to Detox, Peel, Brghten and Boost Firmness. Let’s check out each and every one.

Detox & Pore Purifying – the synergy of Kaolin and Bentonite Clays + Activated Charcoal works diligently on your complexion, leaving your pores visibly refined and free of blemishes. Now you can mix this mask with water but you can supercharge it with ingredients like Apple Cider Vinegar to create a potent spot treatment. I personally hate vinegar, I always had something against it so I’m leaving this one up to you to try out.

Peel – the synergy of Papaya Enzymes + AHA Fruit Acids works instantly to slough off dead skin cells, encouraging fresh, new ones to the surface for a healthy glow. You can supercharge it with Fresh Papaya or Pineapple.

Brighten & Even Out Skin Tonethe fast-acting synergy of Vitamin C + Enzymes fades hyperpigmentaion and prevents brown spots, revealing a radiant and even skin tone.

Firm – the synergy of Vitamin C + Probiotics works as a duo to boost collagen synthesis, providing the skin with the support it needs to stay firm and youthful.
Based on my experience and my skin I'd say it works best for deeply detoxifying the skin + it’s anti-inflammatory, and yeah, I’d say it’s also a bit brightening. My favourite way to use this, and any other powder mask is to mix it with honey. Eucalyptus honey to be precise. Plus Charcoal and a touch of Turmeric (here is one example). I also love adding Camu Camu, which is high in Vitamin C, and I use it in place of Lemon Juice, for its brightening and firming benefits. I usually leave it on my face for half an hour, and I’m loving it. Sometimes I use this mask as a spot treatment – I apply it in the evening and go to sleep with it, and usually it works very well. It reduces those annoying spots, the redness and the bumpiness. I always loved using clay masks as spot treatments, you should definitely try it out if you haven’t already.
Not only that you can mix this mask with the ingredients that can be found at home, but you can also try it out with Odacité Serum Concentrates. Each and every serum is rich in skin-essential nutrients to correct the multitude of common skin concerns, using concentrated oils that work with cells to re-establish equilibrium. They are meant to be used to supercharge your every day cream or oil to give your skin all the good stuff that it needs. I already reviewed one of their gorgeous serums, and one that is still my fave that I’ve tried, the amazing Ca + C Camellina and Chamomile Facial Serum Concentrate for sensitive skin (review here). I still have such fond memories of is because it worked so amazingly well with reducing skin redness and skin sensitivity. Just a quick intro into the three serums I have at the moment.
Ap + P Apricot and Palmarosa Serum Concentrate, created to treat fragile capillaries. This deeply soothing serum is particularly recommended for fragile capillaries and to help heal inflamed, irritated skin. Palmarosa oil helps to reduce the appearance of broken capillaries and further supports sensitized skin with its moisturizing properties. In aromatherapy, Palmarosa is known to be comforting and calming.
GT + L Green Tea and Lemongrass for radiance effect. This serum targets the restoration of radiance & skin luminescence. Active source of plant collagen, Camellia seed oil is extracted from the antioxidant-rich seeds of Green Tea. This precious oil is known to be the ancestral beauty secret behind the geishas’ skin radiance. The astringent and toning proper ties of Lemongrass tighten and refine sluggish, lackluster skin.
Bu + L Buriti and Lime for sagging skin. Vitamin infused serum that helps to firm the connective skin tissues, facilitating tighter & tauter skin. Rare gems of the Amazonian forest, Buriti and Pequi oils are bursting with Vitamin C, beta-carotene and omegas 3-6-9. These precious nutrients help to boost collagen production, serving to visibly firm and redefine facial contours.

Have you tried this lovely brand? What are your thoughts on Odacité's products?

Much love,

Jana xx

Botanicals Mineral Bath Soak Himalayan Rose

December 01, 2016

I guess this colder weather inspired me to write another post dedicated to a bath product. I usually go for the bubble baths and oil-based potions, but this time around I picked up a salt based bath product, the Botanicals Mineral Bath Soak Himalayan Rose*.
This uplifting and relaxing bath soak contains Pink Himalayan Rock Crystals (containing 84 essential minerals), combined with Dead Sea salt (renowned for its powerful healing properties), infused with an uplifting floral blend of organic essential oils to revitalise your skin, revive tired and aching muscles, and soothe your senses. Contains Rose, Geranium, Lavander, Palmarosa and Ylang Ylang. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? The thing I don’t care for in this product is Parfum, even tho it is organic. I just find the scent a bit too strong and I’m thinking that without the perfume I would prefer the scent. Don’t put your nose into the jar, okay. Plus they also say to avoid skin-contact with undiluted ingredients. Oh and it also has Magnesium Sulfate, which is commonly called Epsom Salt. There is a lot written about bathing in Epsom salts in the world wide web. It’s said it can do many great things for the body including relieving stress, pain and aches, flushing out toxins, and they also say that studies have shown increased magnesium levels from soaking in a bath enriched with Epsom salt. Interesting.
I always wanted to try a bath with Epsom salt because of the benefits mentioned above. The bath comes with a very handy scoop and for one bath you need one tablespoon. I sprinkle it in my bath and let the relaxation begin. Now you should soak for 15 to 20 minutes, which is too little time for me. I usually do it for half an hour so I sprinkle the bath soak in a few minutes later, when I’m already relaxing in warm water. Or maybe I should just soak in it for half an hour and don’t care for the recommendation. Speaking of bathing for a longer period of time, don’t forget to hydrate your body with drinking lots of water.

So if you want a nice relaxing bath soak with many benefits due to Pink Himalayan and Epsom Salts, then I recommend you trying it. I would also like to mention Botanicals new Organic Beauty Boxes. They came up with ten lovely Christmas gift sets to choose from, each beautifully presented, festively gift-wrapped and containing a selection of their goodies. Some of them will be also available at Love Lula, the lovely beauty shop where I got the Mineral Bath Soak from.

Wishing you all a beautiful December!

Much love,

Jana xx
