Have you heard of a brand called Kris D’Amour? If not, then you better take notice, because it’s a gorgeous brand with lovely products. A couple of weeks ago I got a little huge parcel from Kris, the founder, and today I wanted to tell you all about my favourite product of the bunch. I like them all, but this one is truly special. I’m talking about the Deep Nourishing Cleansing Balm*, a cleanser which also doubles as a mask. But first, a few words about this British brand. Krid D’Amour stands for purity, balance and love for nature. They create ethical, eco-friendly, natural and organic, luxurious products to treat eczema, ageing, acne and sensitive skin. The brand is vegan and free of many harmful synthetic ingredients such as Artificial Fragrances, Phenoxyethanol, Parabens, Sulphates and the list goes on.
The cleansing balm comes in a 100 ml glass jar with a little spatula so you don’t have to stick your fingers into the product. Love. You always have to be careful not to use wet finger tips when it comes to cleansing balms, or any other balm/cream for that matter. Bacteria? No, thank you. If I compare it to other cleansing balms I’ve tried, this one contains quite a lot of ingredients. It‘s made with unique combination of the most luxurious oils, butters and extracts, which makes it a wonderful product. It contains Organic Shea Butter, Avocado Butter, Organic Sesame Oil, Organic Argan, Avocado and Pomegranate, which are rich in antioxidants and many compounds to help protect, hydrate, nourish and repair the skins natural moisture barrier, making it soft and smooth. It is enriched with some of my favoruite flowers like Calendula and Chamomile, Lavender, Rose and it also has Goji Berry and Orchid Extracts. Beautiful.
The cleansing balm smells sweet and fruity. Like some sort of candy. Yum. The consistency is amazing. The product is whipped to a gorgeous mousse and when it comes in touch with water it turns into a creamy goodness. I love that it emulsifies, so unique. The first time I used it I was like “whhaaat is going on here? Hmm...I think I like this!” After that I’ve been using it slightly different than any other “normal” cleansing balm. I usually apply them straight on my dry face but this one I first mix with some water and then massage onto my skin. It’s a cleansing balm which turns into a creamy cleanser. Obsessed. It gently removes all of my makeup, even mascara and eyeliner. I love to wash it off with a warm cloth. My skin feels super refreshed and soft. I also tried removing it with water but that didn’t do it for me. My skin was still feeling oily. But cloth makes everything better, no oily feeling, just soft skin. Even though the cleansing balm leaves my skin clean and fresh, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t use a cleanser for a double cleanse. At the moment I’m using Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser*.
As already mentioned, it can also be used as a face mask. I actually only used it once that way because lately my skin was more in need of deeply cleansing masks. I did like it that one time. I left it on for about 10-15 minutes and my skin felt smooth, soft and moisturized. I will probably use it more in the winter time, when my skin has a mind of its own.
I’m so in love with this Kris D’Amour Deep Nourishing Cleansing Balm and I highly recommend it. <3 If your skin is dry, sensitive, ageing and dehydrated, then you would love it. My combination skin loves it too. 🙂 Get it here.
With love,
Jana xx
