Let's Talk Trash #15

September 03, 2015

It's empties time! I've been so bad posting these so naturally I was shocked to see how many empty products I accumulated in a few months. I will really have to do them more often so I don't end up with 20 producs at a time. :)
Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation in Blondie - nothing new here, I love this foundation. I bought it numerous times before and I don't plan to stop. Yes, I already have a new one.

Deep Steep Bubble Bath Passion Fruit Guava - such a lovely and affordable bubble bath! The smell is intoxicating, tropical, fruity and sweet. I will probably repurchase at some point, but I have to try some other scents first. My next one will be from their Tangerine - Melon line, which also smells delicious. More here and here.

Acure Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil Conditioner (review) - holy grail!<3 I'm using the big ass bottle now and absolutely loving it! It really is awesome that it's available in such a huge packaging. Shampoo from the same line is also my HG. :)

Gaia Creams Gorgeous Foot and Leg Balm* (review) - an amazing balm for them feet. Super nourishing and perfect for colder months. If you suffer from dry skin on your feet or if you just want a lovely rich balm, then this is the product for you. Vegan, organic and made with love.

Sante Shower Gel Lemon Fresh - I really liked these a while back and I bought a few in different scents but I'm so over them! I think I still have two left, fortunately they're almost finished. Won't repurchase.

Riad of Aromas Avocado & Chamomile Body Cream* (review) - a super lovely body lotion. I truly enjoyed it, it's nourishing and calming, just amazing!

Terra Naturi Effect Mascara - can you tell I like this mascara? I still haven't gotten around to write a review but for a drugstore natural mascara it's amazing! The only thing that slightly bothers me is that it can smudge. Fortuantely that doesn't happen every day and because it makes my lashes look lovely, I still very much enjoy using it. Of course I've already bought it again. :)

Herbfarmacy Wash-Off Cleansing Mousse* (review) - oh how I love this product. Soothing but oh so effective. It's a mix between a cream and a mousse, it has a beautiful texture. It doesn't foam, it's super gentle, it doesn't irritate my skin one bit and at the same time also gets rid of my makeup. One negative thing was the pump. It was perfectly fine in the beginning but sometime near the end it started to annoy me. You know where you press the pump down there's a bit of space so the pump can move? Well, the mousse came out that way too! So through the actual dispenzer and the sides of the pump. Nonetheles I'd still buy it again, it's actually worth the mess. :) And I also think it was just my bottle because I didn't read any negative comments on it.

SpaRitual Protein Boost Strengthening Treatment Polish (review) - I bought this because I thought it would help my nails to grow strong and healthy. It didn't do nothing of the sort but I still liked using it as a base and top coat. But I don't recommmend it as a growth nail polish. I found something way, way better for that. :)

Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel* - such a lovely, lovely product. It kinda did wonders for my skin in terms of keeping the redness down. It goes perfect with the name, it's soothing. It calmed my skin perfectly and I would buy a full size. More here.

Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil (review) - I really enjoyed using this product in the beginning but I'll have to say that I won't be repurchasing. It's nice but there are other oils that work better for my skin. I'd still like to try some other Mad Hippie products, I heard they're great.
Andalou Naturals Argan & Sweet Orange Shampoo and Conditioner (review) - moisturizing, nourishing and with a gorgeous sweet and fruity scent. Mmm so yummy.<3 I loved them and I will definitely buy again sometime in the future.

Hurraw! Coconut Lip Balm - wow, I can't believe I finished a lip balm! I have so many of them and Hurraw! balms are one of my favourite. I liked this one and would probably buy again if I hadn't had so many lip balms.

Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation* - I had such high hopes for this product but I'm sad to say that it really disappointed me. I wasn't a fan of its super runny consistency and even though I read that it provides a light coverage, I expected more. It was almost like I didn't use a foundation at all! For those of you who don't know, this foundation is a mixture of oils and pigments and you really have to shake it up well and I did! I was shaking it like mad and then some more, but there was always too much oil and not enough pigment. And I did try another shade, still the same problem. Talking about shades, I also didn't manage to find a right one for my skin tone. There are so, so many positive and glowing reviews about it, just google it if want to know more, but for me it really isn't worth the price.

S.W. Basics Body Scrub - nice product but not my favourite scrub out there. I love the ingredients, it's literally good enough to eat! Coconut and sugar, who wouldn't eat that?! Because of the coconut oil which was in a solid state most of the time, it was quite a pain to get out off the jar. Also the sugar crystals were a bit too harsh for me but at the same time they also sticked together and it was hard to spread it evenly and remove all of the dead skin cells. But it did work well on smaller areas of my body, feet in particular. More here.

Natura Siberica Tonic Shower Gel - a lovely product with a lovely scent. But "parfum" unfortunately is amongst the ingredients. It lathers nicely, it's not drying and it's one of those inexpensive products that I'll probably buy again. Not the most clean natural brand though.

Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner (review) - affordable and gorgeous! Love this product. It's so refreshing and just awesome. I use it after washing my face and before cream/oil and when I finish applying my makeup. I already have a new one.

Devita Solar Protective Moistruizer SPF 30+ (review- even though I had some problems with this sun cream in the beginning (it balled up when I applied it and I ended up with tiny white particles on my face), I figured out a way and used a heavier moisturizer underneath it. But I don't think I'll repurchase because I found the sunscreen for me, the Kimberly Sayer one. This Devita moisturizer is still super lovely, it doesn't leave a white cast, it's not greasy and works well, I just prefer the other one.

A Pekee Skincare Holy Hibiscus Dew* and Youthful Eye Oil* - I'm sad to write about these products only in my empties post. A Pekee Skincare is a custom-blended skincare made fresh to order. I got these two lovely looking products to try but becasue they're so fresh and also made with water (the eye oil has tomato juice) they went bad pretty soon and I didn't even get a chance to test them out properly. But what I did try I liked, especially the eye oil. I really love the idea behind the brand, where you can pick and choose ingredients and make a product especially designed for your skin.

Herbfarmacy Pure Hydration Serum* (review) - I miss this serum and I'll have to order it when I use some other face products. Super soothing, calming and hydrating. Loved it!

That's it from me today, hope you enjoyed. :)

With love,

Jana xx

  1. Hello Jana!
I love your blog and hearing about new products ,especially the ones we don't have in the US. I wanted to let you know that you should definitely try the Mad Hippie cleanser. It was very reminiscent of the Pai cleanser in consistency and potency of scent, very gentle and soothing and slightly sweet, the pump makes it super easy to use, and the fact that it is a very reasonable price is great. Also, I had trouble with the Gressa foundation too. Not with shades but with it actually looking good on my skin and I thought i would share what made it work for me, and that was to use it on bare skin. I think using it on top of moisturizer and oils makes it too slippery and look patchy, but when i put it on my bare skin it definitely has looked better.

  3. So many empties (: ...how fast do you go trough mascaras Jana? Mine seem to last ages but I like most of them not until they get a bit older and thicker in their consistency x) ...maybe that's the reason ^^ .
And I love my Lily Lolo Foundation as well...I tried so many mineral foundation but this one still is my favorite! Lots of love <3 .

    1. Hmm in about three or four months :) I'm good with my mascaras :P Well, they actually make me to be good because this one dries quite fast but not fast at the same time, just right, I'd say :) I like them a bit older too, they usually give better results then :D

Oh I'm so happy to hear you love it too! Lots of love to you, dear Theresa<3 xx

  4. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't love the Gressa foundation! I had exactly the same issues that you described. Made me sad, because so many people raved about it that I felt like maybe it was just me doing something wrong. And I really wanted it to be the green foundation that would finally work for me! I guess for now I'm sticking with Revlon.

    1. Uf you know what Emily, I'm so happy you shared your feelings about it, I was also beginning to think I'm the only one..I guess some of us just don't get along with it :) What about Sappho foundation? I heard it's amazing! Besides the LL one I also use So Bio Etic BB cream, which is lovely :) Just to give you some recommendations because I want you to find a green foundation :) xx

    2. Thanks! I really want to find a good green foundation, but so far nothing has really worked for me. I have super-oily skin, which gets worse in the summer, and only Revlon Colorstay has ever been able to stand up to it. :-( But I'll give some of those a try!

    3. Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, but don't stop, I know you'll find something that you'll love :) What about mineral foundations?

    1. Hihihi Julie, you're so funny :D After reading these comments I see you're definitely not alone! :) Which one are you using right now? I was thinking you don't wear any, because babe, you're flawless! :) Once we talked about Sante foundation and I went to drugstore to check it ou, but the shade was too pink for me..oh well, at least I tried it :) xx

  6. I agree about the Gressa foundation! Some days I like it and some days I really don't. I won't be repurchasing but found a way to use it up. I mix one drop with a tinted moisturizer and it blends much easier. Gives me a little more coverage and more of a matte look. I'll have to check out the Lily Lolo!

  7. I love your empties posts!! They are always so complete. Apeke sounds intriguing, I'm liking the idea of freshly-made skincare but a shame that it went bad pretty quickly. Xx
