Oils On Rotation

July 20, 2015

S.W. Basics Oil Serum - tole olje sem želela že odkar sem ga prvič videla in ni me razočaral.

Translation
You probably all know by now what are my favourite products for my face, body and hair. Oils of course! They've made such a huge difference in my skin and hair and I really can't recommend them enough. The most amazing thing about them is that everyone can find an oil that will suit their skin. There are so many of them, some work wonders on dry and sensitive skin and some are perfect for oily, acne-prone skin. I can tell you from my experiences (yes, plural) that I've already suffered with dry patches on my skin becuse I didn't use the right oil for my skin. But I just had to try. :) Different oils have different compositions, even different consistency - some are lighter than other, some are more comedogenic and others are more hydrating. It really all depends on the oil. Because my skin isn't always behaving like it should have, I use different oils depending on my skin. Currently I'm really pleased with three oils that I use separately or together. One is more than perfect for sensitive skin, second one for dry and the third for combination skin and skin dealing with post-acne red marks, dark spots.

Odacité Ca + C (Camelina, Chamomile) Facil Serum Concentrate* - one of the best oils for sensitive skin I've tried.<3 I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's amazing! I won't go into too much details because I'll do a review but the two main active ingredients in this oil are Camelina oil and Chamomile. Like the name would suggest. :) The serum is super calming and soothing, it helps with irritated skin and it also minimizes redness. This is the oil I've been using every day without fail.

Biopark Avocado Oil - every once in a while I get some dry patches on my face, sometimes because I use the wrong products, sometimes because of the cold weather, it doesn't really matter but when that happens I usually turn to avocado oil. Oil is most suitable for those with dry and mature skin, it's one of the heavier oils. Therefore it can also clog pores. It's very moisturizing and nourishing but also soothing and calming. I always notice a difference in my skin when I eat avocados and of course it's the same when I apply it directly on my skin. Or hair. Because of its fatty acids and overall composition it's really great for dry skin. Dry patches are significally reduced in a couple of days, skin is softer and smoother. Every once in a while I use it on its own but ever since I've gotten the Odacité serum I only use it in a combination of the two.

S.W. Basics Oil Serum - I wanted this oil ever since I first saw it and it didn't disappoint me. It contains four ingredients and the one that really captured my attention is the Organic Turmeric Oil. Oh how I love turmeric! This inflammatory spice is such a wonderful thing to have in your home. I love eating it, it contains loads of antioxidants and it's a powerful anti-inflammatory. When applied topically it also heals acne and helps tremendously with acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Check out this post to see how you can use it on your face. But enough about turmeric, which is by the way also delicious, the Oil serum also contains my beloved avocado oil. As for my usage of this oil goes, I especially love using it on the days following that one particular evening when I make a massacre out of my skin. When I extract all my spots, even those invisible ones. I don't do that every month but sometimes I just can't help myself. :) The oil really helps to reduce redness and scars, and it also leaves my skin more even and smoother.

Which oil(s) have you been enjoying lately?

Much love,
Jana xx

I've heard that one is good, I'm really curious about it and because of it I also made a DIY black cumin infusion in argan oil :) I have yet to try it, to be honest I kinda forgot about it but I store it in my fridge so I'm assuming it won't go bad for a little while longer :) Yes, Odacite is a wonderful brand, I had their sample collection and I loved it! :) xx

  5. The SW Basics oil sounds awesome. It's on my to-try list, but I just wonder when I can get around to it! Currently I'm loving everything from TN Botanicals, and also Josh Rosebrook's Herbal Infusion Oil. I've tried the Antipodes divine face oil too, but I think it was a little too heavy for my skin at that time. Avocado oil works well on my body tho. xo
