AlpStories Aloe Butter Face Cream

June 07, 2015

AlpStories Obrazna krema z alojinim maslom, Aloe Butter Face Cream

Uporabljala jo bom še naprej in če bom sčasoma videla boljše rezultate, bom to zagotovo napisala. :)

Translation
AlpStories is a new Slovenian brand made with natural and organic ingredients. I really like their idea that you can create your own product, looks like so much fun but I only saw that after I received my order. Maybe I'll try that in the future but for now let's talk about one of their face cream, the Aloe Butter Face Cream*. This vegan cream is best suited for delicate and sensitive skin, is cruelty free and free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours, synthetic fragrances and silicones.

Active ingredient is aloe vera gel, made from a beautiful aloe vera plant, which is full of healing, calming and hydrating properties. In the concoction of ingredients there are also almond oil, which protects the outer layer of skin, while coconut and jojoba oil refresh tired look and rejuvenate the skin. It is absorbed quickly, has deep moisturizing properties, it enhances the skin, soothes and refreshes the skin.

I've been using it for about a month, month and a half. It has a very lovely consistency, which is more on the thick side, but that doesn't mean it's heavy like a super nourishing body lotion or even butter. If I apply a pump of product on my hand, it doesn't slide or move, it stays put. I like that, the consistency is just right. The cream has quite a gentle and inoffensive scent, but if it was up to me, I would skip "parfum" and create the cream without it. Sometimes it can irritate the skin but fortunately I don't have that problem here. I agree with the description of the cream, it is absorbed quickly but I can't say much positive things about its deep moisturizing properties. Sometimes when I only used a rose toner with no alcohol and AlpStories cream, my skin wasn't properly moisturized, it was even a bit tight. Not the best feeling. I expected more but I always use an oil or at least a sunscreen on top so I'm not as annoyed with that as some might be.

Like I said, I've been using it for quite some time now, twice a day, and usually that's enough time to see if a product works for me or not. The cream is nice but I didn't see any results in terms of deep moisturization or any other results for that matter. Maybe if I would test it in the colder months, when I usually have more problems with dry skin, I'd have better results. I'm not saying it's a bad cream, maybe if I wouldn't read the description I wouldn't have such expectations. All in all, it's a nice cream, it doesn't clog my pores, has a light texture, great glass bottle with a pump, it just isn't as deeply moisturizing as I imagine it would be. I will continue using it and if I'll see better results, I will let you know. :)

Much love,
Jana xx

  4. Aloe butter...hm..that sounds really good actually. I am wondering how Aloe "cream" feels like, as I am only familiar with aloe concentrates in more of a gel version. You know, those pure, cooling helpers that sooth and calm the skin. However, I think this one wouldn't work for me either, as I am not a big fan of coconut oil in facial products..

    1. Yeah, I agree with you Oly, unfortunately sounds better than it actually is. Like you, I really like aloe vera too, I just have a mask with fresh, raw aloe vera gel and honey on my face and I'm loving it!<3 That's too bad your skin doesn't agree with coconut oil, I imagine it's so annoying because natural brands love using it. xx
