Fun with Samples

May 11, 2015

Zelo!

Parfum ni najbolj obstojen kar sem jih imela, a me to niti najmanj ne moti, ker tako lepo in unikatno diši.

Translation
I really like the idea of samples and I'm always so happy when I get them, but honestly, I rarely use them or not as quickly as I should have, especially if they're in sample bags. I much prefer bigger samples that can be used multiple times and I can get a better idea if I actually like the product or not. And today's post is about these products, about generous samples stored in packaging that caught my attention. I guess you could call me a sample snob, but aren't we all more excited about bigger samples?

La Bella Figura Bio Active Healing Mask* - I'm sure you've all heard of LBF, a gorgeous brand that I wanted to try for such a long time and I've never thought I would actually have a chance to test out! This luxury brand isn't really affordable and I'm not sure if I'd splurge on such an expensive product if I wouldn't be sure it suits my skin. So I was beyond ecstatic when the lovely Rayna from Reina Organics contacted me and sent me two LBF testers to try.<3 The product I want to talk about today is the beautiful, dark red facial mask. I have to say it's one of the best face masks I've tried. This regenerative and hydrating mask is a curative treatment for dry, irritated and mature skin conditions. I'd recommend it to everyone, except those with very sensitive skin. The mask contains healing ingredients like Manuka Honey, Aronia Berry Powder, Kaolin, Barbary Fig Seed Oil, Rosehip, Turmeric and more. I apply it on a freshly cleansed face (sometimes I also mix a bit of honey into it) and leave on my face for half an hour. Besides the wonderful hydrating properties, the mask also gently exfoliates and leaves my skin very soft and smooth. Very! Maybe I'll give in some day and buy a whole jar of it. It'd have been nice to own this little jar of goodness, especially in their new packaging. Isn't it stunning?!

Leahlani Skincare Puakini Tuberose Perfume Oil (this is actually an old name, now is called Pua Lei- I've already talked about one of my favourite brands, I love every product I've tried and this little bottle of perfume oil is no exception! I was trying to describe its amazing tropical, flowery scent here, it's just super lovely and I love it more and more every time I use it! Every Leahlani Skincare product just makes me want to go to Hawaii!! :) It isn't the most long lasting perfume I've tried but I don't mind that one bit, because the scent is so nice and unique. I apply it on the usual spots, behind my ears, on my neck, wrists. I would also apply it on my hair but fortunately for me, I have the Coconut Infusion in the same scent, Puakini Tuberose. You guessed it, they go perfectly together and I can't say enough good things about them!

Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel (from Travel & Try Kit)* - one of the best products for sensitive, irritated skin! It's also one of the most interesting products and one I wouldn't long for if I'd only read the ingredients. In their base of Organic Aloe Vera Gel and Witch Hazel is Alcohol (organically grown grape alcohol). But hear me out, the product isn't drying and it's actually really soothing, calming, moisturizing and refreshing. I won't go into details but do check out Kim's review to learn more about the product and the alcohol. Gel also contains some pretty amazing organic and wild-crafted herbs like Greater Nettle, Wild Chamomile, Myrrh, European Elder and more. It has a light, herbal scent, which was a bit strange at first, but then it grew on me. The consistency is quite watery and sinks in super quickly. This really is an amazing products and I'm super sad that I've already used it all up.

Have a great week!

Lots of love,
Jana xx

  1. I love the Soothing Gel too! For me, it is a little too drying to use all over, but it makes a fantastic spot treatment :)
