Ready for the Weekend

October 24, 2014

Trenutno testiram novo negovalno kozmetiko in moja koža očitno ni tako navdušena nad ukinitvijo Gaia Creams seruma z ovsom in amarantom*, ker se mi pojavljajo rahle nepravilnosti na koži. Buhu.
Pamper Routine Facial Steam, Scrub, Face Mask
Pamper Routine, Treat your skin with facial steam, scrub and face mask
DIY Floral Facial Steam, DIY Olive Castor Oil
Prvi korak je parna kopel. No, najprej na obraz nanesem mešanico olivnega in ricinovega olja. Deset minutna kopel odpre pore obraza in deluje zelo blagodejno. Če z ogrci nimate težav (damn you!), potem naredite le parno kopel, olja sploh ni treba uporabiti.
Leahlani Skincare Honey Love Microdermabrasion 3 in 1
Preizkusila sem ga le dvakrat a prvi vtisi so odlični! Kristali so kar grobi zato previdnost ni odveč.
Moringa Eucalyptus Honey Mask

Translation
I'm currently testing out some new skincare products and my skin isn't looking its best. It clearly misses the Gaia Creams Oat & Amaranth Serum*. I got some spots/redness, not a lot but there is a difference. Or maybe my hormones are playing tricks with me. Again. That's why today I'm sharing with you my evening pamper routine that I did in the middle of the week. It really helped to clear and calm down my skin. Yay! :) This routine has three steps, but before you do any of them you have to wash your face and get rid off all your makeup and dirt.

Now you're ready for the first step, a facial steam. Well, the first true step is applying a mixture of olive and castor oil. I don't remember the ratio, but there's a lot more olive oil in there than castor, about 70:30. Castor oil really dries out my skin so I only use it on special occasions. I apply this "serum" mainly on my nose, where I have clogged pores and blackheads. I just can't get rid of them! Castor oil is super thick and it penetrates deeply into the pores so it draws out dirt and impurities from deep within your pores. I leave this oil on my face and begin with facial steaming. You can find a recipe for a DIY floral/herbal facial steam here, or you can use chamomile or for example sage if you have oily skin. Ten minute facial steam opens up the pores and it's just great for your skin. It's definitely worth those 10 uncomfortable minutes when you don't know what to do with yourself. :) Skin becomes super soft and smooth, it improves blood circulation. After steaming I thoroughly massage my face, especially my nose. Sometimes I also add more oil if I think it's needed. Then I attack those pesky blackheads! I don't recommend this to everyone because you can do some real damage to your skin. I'm guilty of that myself. But if you still wish to extract them out you have to must wrap your index fingers into two tissues and apply pressure with tips of your fingers and avoid digging your nails into your skin. That's the worst way to do it, so don't do that! But because the steam makes your skin super soft and opens up your pores, you won't even need to use your nails. But be careful nonetheless. If you don't have problems with blackheads (damn you!), then just do a facial steam, you can skip the oils.

The second step is a scrub. My scrub of choice is usually in the form of a mask. Enzyme or glycolic masks/scrubs work great, but here I used a new product, the Leahlani Skincare Honey Love Microdermabrasion 3 in 1*. I only tried it twice but my first impressions are great! I will do a full review but for now let me just tell you that the main ingredient is Honey.<3 It also contains Vitamins E and C, Rose Water, beautiful Lavender, Chamomile and Hibiscus flowers, but the active ingredient are Corundum Crystals. They remove all of the dead skin cells and leave my skin super smooth and just lovely. So I firstly use the Honey Love as a mask and then gently massage my skin to remove dead skin cells. Cyrstals are quite harsh so you have to be careful not to rub too much. Rinse everything off with water and you're done. Almost. :) If you don't have time you're done, because this product works as a scrub and a mask. But if you're in a good mood then check out the third step.

The face mask. If you're being lazy, apply some honey, leave on for 5 minutes to an hour, as long as you wish. Honey has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces redness and scars and at the same time it really softens and moisturizes the skin. You can leave it at that or you can add an ingredient or two. I added Moringa, a plant that contains lots of vitamins and minerals. It has detoxifying, anti-bacterial, rejuvenating, anti-aging properties.

After you washed your face, all that's left to do is to apply your favourite toner, serum, cream, oil, whatever you use for your night skincare routine. Then quickly go to bed because in the morning you'll need want those 5 extra minutes to admire your glowing skin. :)

Love,
Jana xx

They're now on the sides of my nose near the top & all between my eyebrows on my forehead...aghhhh! I've not actually tried honey as a mask..think I'll do that tonight before meeting up with some other green girlies tomorrow :D xx
