Odlična maska z bučo in medom, ki krasno odstrani odmrle celice in kožo pusti mehko in sijočo. No, danes pa bom govorila o njeni “dvojčici”, Andalou Naturals Fruit Enzyme Mask oziroma sadno-encimski maski.
Translation
Remember how I was all about the Andalou Naturals Glycolic Mask? Excellent mask with Pumpkin and Honey that removes the dead skin cells and leaves skin soft and glowing. Well today I’ll write about its “twin”, the Fruit Enzyme Mask. It’s cruelty free, free of parabens, phthalates and other toxic ingredients, gluten free and with non-GMO ingredients.
As the name suggests, the mask contains fruit – Cranberry and Apple Juices, Lemon, BioActive 8 Berry Complex which is a certified organic portfolio of superfruit antioxidants like Acai, Goji and Aronia Berry. The most important ingredients have to be the Apple + Grape Stem Cells, age defying cells that renew dormant cells, repair damaged cells and regenerate healthy cells. It also contains some other amazing ingredients like Sea Buckthorn, Rosehip and Sunflower Oils, Manuka Honey, Rooibos and White Tea. All these ingredients create a potent mix of antioxidants to slow cellular damage and stimulate sin firming collagen and elastin. Besides that, the fruit enzymes gently dissolve dull, dry surface cells.
The mask smells absolutely lovely, like apples, berries and oranges. Consistency is like a mixture of honey and gelatin (not that I really know what that looks like:)). It’s not runny or sticky, just right. Easy to apply and to wash off. The mask is suitable for all skin types and it’s way gentler that glycolic mask. First couple of minutes it does burn a bit but not too much, just a little. The skin feels perfectly fine when you wash it off, it’s not red or anything like that. So far so good. However, there’s one problem. The mask just doesn’t remove all of the dead skin cells. It actually leaves my skin dry and thirsty and almost always when I use it I get a few dry patches, really strange. It’s like the mask should be on longer to completely remove everything. And that’s actually what Mayah suggested. 🙂 So far the longest I’ve left it on was 20 minutes, it was okay, I don’t know, maybe it will work better after 30 minutes. But to be fair, it does say that it gently dissolve dry cells so I guess it’s just too gentle for my skin. After applying a face cream my skin doesn’t feel smoother or softer but it kinda looks smooth, which is also nice.
I will say I was initally a bit disappointed with it and I kinda forgot to use it. But don’t get me wrong, this is not a negative review because the mask has wonderful ingredients and I know some really like it and I would love to love it too but it just doesn’t work the best on my skin. My combination skin prefers the glycolic one. As far as the enzymes masks go I will stick to my beloved 100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel. But I would recommend this Fruit Enzyme Mask for those of you who have normal, dry and maybe even sensitive skin.
Have a great weekend!
