svojih hladilnih in pomirjujočih učinkovinah.
In
Translation
I’ve been a fan of rose water for a long time. I don’t remember when I first started using it but I remember it was one from Melvita. They changed their formulation and added alcohol, a big no-no for me! And then the whole L’occitane and China market and animal testing happened and I was done with Melvita. Wow, okay, that’s not the point of this post! Back to rose water. 🙂 It reduces redness and inflammation, balances pH levels of the skin, it’s so refreshing and invigorating, smells wonderful and it’s suitable for all skin types. I simply adore it and always love products with rose petals. When it comes to skincare, toners aren’t really my favourite products, I usually give more thought money to other bits but saying that I can’t imagine being without a toner. It’s actually the first thing I use on my freshly cleansed skin and the last when I’m done with my makeup. The more I think about it, the more I love it!
At the moment I’ve been loving a bit of an improved version of rose water, the Thayers toner with the beautiful organic juice of aloe vera which is perhaps most known for its cooling and calming properties. It’s great for damaged and burned skin, helps to reduce hyperpigmentation, all in all it’s a fantastic plant. There is also vegetable glycerin, great for moisturizing and organic witch hazel, a natural astringent that minimizes pores, increases skin firmness and helps with oil balancing. And what is the most important thing for me is, the toner doesn’t contain alcohol! Even though some of you might have oily skin it’s best to choose products without alcohol because with regular use it doesn’t do any good for the skin.
Ingredients aside I don’t see any major difference on my skin when using simple, pure rose water. Nevertheless, I still love it just because of the added ingredients. 🙂 As you can see, Thayers has that old school design which I quite like, the packaging is simple and effective. On the top it has a very small opening but I’m all about spray bottles. I don’t like using cotton pads, every now and then my ecological awareness strikes out and because of that I only use them for removing nail polish and even then I usually use just one cotton pad. So fortunately for me I still had some Argana Rose water and when I finished it I just pour in some Thayers toner. Works perfectly. I always spray some on my face after my morning and evening face wash and after applying my makeup. But you know when I love it the most? When I’m hot and sweaty (TMI don’t care), it’s so refreshing and nice. 🙂
Considering the big bottle, I recommend it to those of you who love roses. 355 ml is a lot when you don’t like the scent. I bought it here.
