Water with a Twist

June 09, 2014

Meta Melisa, Mint Melissa
Lemon Mint Melissa Infused Water

So tudi vam všeč? Katera mešanica je vaša najljubša?

Translation
I've never been much into soda or juice for me water was always the drink of choice. But you know what's even better than good old plain water? Infused water. It's really hot where I live, summer is almost here and for that reason I've decided to write a post about infused waters. Maybe there is someone who hasn't heard about them!:)
You can make infused water by adding some herbs, fruits and vegetables. I love adding mint and melissa leaves which among other things stimulates digestion, soothes, improves mood, memory and concentration. When I'm making my infused water I always use both and if I want a bit more I also add some fruit. My favourite of all is mint, melissa and lemon. Lemon has lots of vitamin C which helps with fatigue and exhaustion and it's overall great for your health and body. And it works really great at detoxifying your body. You can use lemon juice or slices but only if you have organic lemon. You don't want to drink all those nasty pesticides. As you can see on my photos, sometimes I add some other fruit, it really depends on what I have. One is with watermelon and other with strawberries and pineapple. All really yummy!

What do you think about infused waters? Which mix is your favourite?

  6. Jana, super blog! :) Jaz v času cvetenja bezga, meti, melisi in limoni dodam še bezgove cvetove in res paše v teh vročih dneh. :)

  7. Back in Singapore my BFF and I took turns to make this infused water for each other. It was perfect for our hot, humid weather and also encourages you to drink more water! However I felt the fibre goes to waste so now I rather make smoothies. :)

    1. Oh sounds like you have lots of nice refreshing drinks :) And you're right, it definitely encourages you to drink more which is just awesome! :) Yup smoothies are better in that way but these infused waters are just great to drink through the day, just to mix it up a bit and add some flavour to the water :)
