My Take On Lavender Grains

March 24, 2014

Ingredients for DIY Homemade Face Cleanser Exfoliator
- rhassoul in zeleno glino,
- ovsene kosmiče,
- mandlje,
- posušen ognjič,
- posušeno sivko in
- posušene vrtnične cvetove.

V izdelku naj bo največ ovsenih kosmičev in najmanj cvetlic. Vse skupaj zmeljite v kavnem mlinčku, premešajte in stresite v steklen lonček.

DIY Cleanser Scrub Mask
DIY Face Wash Cleanser and Gentle Exfoliator
DIY Face Wash Clay Flowers Oats Almonds
In če vas zanima še več o podobnih mešanicah glin, cvetlic in hrane, kliknite tukaj.

If you know about the beautiful brand Hana Organics than you probably guessed what's the deal with the title. I'm talking about a cleanser and exfoliator that goes by the name Lavender Grains. I'd love to try it, it looks so lovely that it inspired me to do my version of the face wash and I've been really loving it! If you are like me and you can't afford the product than you can try making your own. I used rhassoul and green clay, oats, almonds, dried calendula, lavender and rose. You can see that I used lots of oats and just a little bit of flowers. Grind and mix them together with a coffee grinder and put in a glass jar. Scoop out with a ceramic or a wooden spoon and avoid metallic spoons because they change the chemical compound of clay.
I've been using it as a face wash on days when I don't have any makeup on and in the mornings. It doesn't work as a makeup remover but as a second cleanser. I mix it with a bit of water and gently massage onto my face. It works great as a gentle scrub, it leaves my skin so smooth and soft. Oats really calm and soothe my skin, I'm sure all you regular readers know how much I love them! But if all that is not enough for you, it can be also used as a face mask. I love to add some honey and a bit of vegetable oil of choice to the mixture but you can mix it with water too. Because it contains clay I only leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse it off.
So there you have it, a DIY face wash/scrub/mask which is really simple to make, effective, inexpensive and suitable for all skin types. If you wanna know more about these face washes with clays, flowers and food head over to Lise's blog. She wrote a few recipes that are definitely worth a try!

Have a great week,
Jana xx

    1. Thank you Audrey! :) Because it doesn't contain any oils that would dissolve makeup, it's too gentle for that :))

  2. This is such a great idea! Using your coffe grinder to make a face scrub! I've got one and it's just sitting there. One question though - where do you find these dried flowers? Did you pick and dry them yourself?

  12. Draga Jana!
Keep up the good work!
    xx, J.
